 I just got this game today, and it's nearly unplayable thanks to all these blackscreen crashes. I initially thought it could be related to my power supply, but I can play BF3 or the Witcher 2 on high settings all day and it never crashes. I don't think this game would be pulling as much load on my system.

Anyway, the crashes happen totally at random. Sometimes I can play for quite a while, sometimes it happens within minutes of starting the game. It's a black screen that forces me to reset my machine, but the sound still works (and I can even still talk in mumble). I've tried reducing graphics settings and it doesn't help. My drivers are up to date according to AMD's utility.

Here are my specs:
Core i5 2400
8GB RAM
Sapphire Radeon 6870
Hitachi 1.5GB hard drive
Biostar TH67+ Mobo
Antec Earthwatts 500W PSU

Anyone? This just happened again. I really like what I've seen of this game, but at this point it's basically unplayable.

Going to give this another bump. I'd really like to play this game.

Just downloaded the new patch, going to see if it changes anything.

Fixed it.

Turns out the problem is that the fan on my video card wasn't automatically spooling up when it needed to. This was causing the card to overheat. I went into the Catalyst control panel and used the manual fan control to force a 50% fan speed, and I was able to play the game for hours without a hitch.
