When either Sofia or the really old warden Mage go to close the veil, they tell me I need to protect them but then nothing happens.  They have a quest marker above their head but they do not respond to anything.  This is a content breaking bug for me as I cannot progress beyond this point.  I've tried reloading, exiting, ect.  I've even tried doing it with different characters from different games. 

I've tried using the search feature but I honestly cannot get it working.

You should just have to sit and wait for monsters to spawn and you just have to keep defeating them. I think there are 4 sets that spawn, one for each of the little portals he stands on.

Same issue here. Worked in my first playthrough, but then I started a new game with a different character type and it didn't work in the second playthrough. What Starfleeter_ said *should* be what happens...it's just broke. There's been at least one other post about this particular bug, but I haven't seen any solutions or workarounds posted.

I also have this problem with my second play through. And a third, I re-created the 2nd character and it simply does the same thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

Even if only the first one is relevent, posting properly helps others to help you.  And register the game. Shows you likely have a genuine copy.
