So after days and hours of changing settings & doing everything i've read on the forum - I spoke with a real EA Person to ask how to fix it, and he told me that it might be caused by the fact my game is installed on my E: drive, rather than my C: drive.

So I uninstall, and then pop another 15GB of my monthly bandwith on this game, and I install it to my C: drive.

The problem now is. [And I don't even know if it will work when its fixed.]

Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater --- The Service. The service we're all having trouble with, well,

e:\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe

Problem being - I don't have an E: drive anymore, I transferred it all to save myself hassle in the future to my C: drive.

how can I change the path this service takes , as it won't let me edit it?

Thanks in advance, bioware aren't my favourites anymore, future games are a no thanks.

e:\\\\steam\\\\steamapps\\\\common\\\\dragon age origins\\\\bin_ship\\\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe

It goes to this directory, and says cannot find as path doesn't exist, etc.

I don't have an E drive anymore, so this is troublesome.

My service wouldn't start in the first place , it just wouldn't start, regardless of me changing the Log On settings & countless other things, so I spoke with an EA Person that's getting payed real money!.. And he made my problem 2X as bad. Yay for not being able to play DLC you payed for.

Right now all I want is a way to change the path my 'DAO DLC Service' will take , as I cant see any ways to change it, and it's going to a drive that doesn't exist.

The game is trying to load the service from the wrong drive? Odd. Can't you just run it manually from wherever its installed?

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.

That's what it says when I try to manually start it via the folder.

but I don't think that matters, I do have the service in my /Run Services.msc list, it just won't start up there, mainly because it's trying to start from a drive I don't have.. . Hehe. ;p

Hm so it sounds like the service with the wrong directory is preventing the "new" service with the right directory from being loaded.

Try delete the service, then load the service.exe from the right place?

Well that's just it deary, I don't know how to delete the service from services.msc, it has no delete option , and i'm not a complete genius when it comes to computers. =\\

Sorry figured you'd be comfortable doing such things since you mentioned services.msc :P

Odd though, it should've been removed when you uninstalled DA the first time. Oh well.

I mention services because i've spent the last 2 days not making my own topic, reading others and going through thousands of pages of text reading unnecessary information to hopefully find something that can fix my problem, I didnt fix it, so I uninstalled/reinstalled, and made a new problem. xD. I just want to have my old problem back ;p

thank you for the link, ill get right on it.

And thank you for helping, even if it doesnt work or fix the problem entirely, which it wont ;p, I appreciate you spending your time here. The 'people' need to help & stick together, and its admirable you are here, with plenty of others, trying to help fix a problem that the developers of the game have caused, and refuse to fix. Much love to you.

The service isn't there anymore, which is good, as when I reinstall [IF] ... It will atleast go to the right place, but now I cant even get the service back :<

Zzz,should bring it back. Probably best to just reinstall then. It should install properly this time, without the messed up service in the way.
