Steam doesn't let you reinstall a game without redownloading it? :0

It doesnt, no. I don't have the 'uninstall' option in the launcher, only the option to delete all files via steam, then it requires me to re-download it to install. :|

If you're using Steam, when you remove DA it should also remove the service - but it is also possible it didn't install it correctly the first time which is happening with some digi download versions.
Have you looked at the following thread and commands for how to add the service to run manually? particularly section 3.2.3 and 3.2.4

Edit: If the game is running fine, then it sounds like you just need to manually start the service up - no need to reinstall (and esp. re-download)

Ugh, my posts aren't posting. Sorry if double post appears.
I can't uninstall the game, I can only delete the files via steam option, then I have to redownload it to install via steam.

I have spent days looking , and yes, i've looked at that thread, it also didn't help. Thanks though.
The game runs fine, yes. The service doesn't start, even when I manually do it, as it was going to a drive that doesn't exist [the directory]. so I deleted it in hope of being able to get it back, with the correct directory drive, but I can't get the service back.
