Right.  Before I begin, I would like to just take a moment to say that, if I offend anyone with my rampant hate of one particular NPC, please do not murder me.  Instead, go find, say, a broken piece of furniture with no sharp edges and kick it a few times.  Trust me, it's a great stress reliever, so long as it's not your own broken furniture.

Jokes aside, the first topic has to do with romance (if you hadn't guessed).  Now, I want to say that while I do not get any, err... what's the word -- pleasure? -- from romances on video games, I'm one of those people that likes to see character development.  As I play these video games, I'm sort'a writing a story in my head; that's just the way I am.  So, since romance is a very human thing, it naturally is a part of character development.

(A disclaimer, though:  I only do this for single-player games.  If anyone sends me a private message for hawt nastiez, I'm dialing 911 and asking for an adult (even if I'm one myself).  Just wanted to say that.)

Now, as a self-respecting male, I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the choices available for male characters.  Wait, no -- let me rephrase that.  I'm rather displeasured and have taken to bashing my head against my own fist, sometimes the wall, in frustration.  You see, being the self-respecting male that I am, there are certain things that I do not want to deal with in character development of any sort in a video game.  Specifically, two of those things are alliances with emos and alliances with... uh... people that do the nasty things for a living?

Now, as far as I can tell, those things sum up Morrigan and Zevran, who are the only characters I know of that are available for a male PC to romance with.  While this isn't an important matter to me, I simply have to ask -- is there any other choice available?  I don't want some hypocritical "I HATE TOUCHING" "Oh, sure, we can kiss" emo/goth 'Witch' who's done God knows what or some "I was raised by <explicitive> and love <explicitive> all the time with whatever <explicitive> <explicitive> crosses my path!" elf as my only choices for romance if I'm playing a male character.  I mean, that's not romance; that's looking for nasty on a video game, chum.

Okay.  Rambling-strewn topic left in the dirt.  Next:  Those two dwarf traders in the beginning, at Lothering, are good at being absent.

Has anyone else passed up those two dwarf traders at Lothering in the beginning, and thusly been unable to get enchantments for their items since then?  I did so on my first character because I'd killed the Darkspawn guarding them, and they didn't so much as reply to my clicking on them for at least five minutes -- a glitch, I presume.  So, I went through the first three army-gathering missions that I chose to do without any enchantments.  Think of how angry I was to learn that they are actually willing to follow you around and enchant things for you when I made my second character.

So, is there any way to repair that glitch with my main character?  I don't want to have to restart now, but I have all these Master/Expert runes sitting in my backpack that are basically just vendor trash.  If not, is there ANYWHERE I can use them?  At all?  Because, honestly, I think I'll burst into tears if I can't put 'em to use.

(Stupid dwarves... and that's coming from someone whose main characters ARE dwarves.)

Done ranting and possibly earning a sniper's eye on him.  Any responses are appreciated.

Umm...Leliana? She's your perfect little cheerleader option. Believes in god and everything. With only a dash of dark streak.

Wow, this is written in really dramatic language.
Emo?  She's well-adjusted, and fairly in control to her emotions. Why not juts drop your presuppositions and play through it with her?  She is not depraved sexually.

... Leliana's an option? Didn't know that (and actually considered attempting to see if she was one). Does she not respond to Dwarf males, then?

And I wrote it this way for the sake of comedy and exaggerated self-expression, Radahldo. Thus the dramatic language. Don't take it personally, please (because that normally leads to me getting hurt physically). But I still don't like her as a character, myself.

EDIT:  Oh, and I still don't know about those darned dwarf traders.  Is the problem mentioned in the opening post fixable, or would I have to restart?

And, as a final sidenote, I actually think Zevran is a cool character -- just not for romance, at least not with the character I'm using ATM.

She should respond, but she's got that whole born again good girl thing going on. It will take a bit of effort to get in her pants.

As for the dwarves, sadly, I think it may not be possible to get them. I know that if you leave Sten and Leliana in Lothering, they will be gone for good.

Morrigan is just hot. Period.

As far as the traders, I guess you could just cheat to give yourself some enchanted weapons :/

Alrightie. Since both of my questions have been answered, I guess I'll just give my thanks to y'all and see if I can beat the game without the enchantments. (I have a second character nearing the level the other's at, anyway, and they CAN get enchantments.)

Thanks to everyone for the responses (I told you I'd give thanks) and Happy Thanksgiving. Not much longer 'til then.
