I'm trying to activate my DLC and play multiplayer, but for some reason I can't connect to the EA servers despite being logged in AND online on Origin. 
I keep getting this message:
"You must be signed in to your Origin account (EA) and be in online mode to access online features".

Glad I'm not alone on this. I'm currently in an EA live support chat right now trying to resolve the problem.

I, too, am experiencing this. 4 minutes away from a live chat to hopefully resolve. I'll update here if I make progress.

After spending half an hour waiting for a support person to "review my account", he suggested I change my Origin account id (which I did), log out, and log back in. Naturally, the log out killed the chat window...and ME3 still persists in not working.

Wish I'd logged the chat. Now back in the queue again to chat some more.

I've had this happen a few times, including just now. As an extra annoyance, once I finally do get through with the "connect to EA servers" button, I can't continue playing because the game refuses to validate that I have the From Ashes DLC installed, and a restart is needed (where it needs to connect to the server on the initial attempt, otherwise the validation problem repeats).

 This seems to be an ongoing problem with EA publications. Very dissapointing considering the number of purchases I have made over the years (multiple for some titles),
