Not having the film grain effect has been nothing short of dissappointing. I love Mass Effect. I'm a huge fan. The plotline and characters are incredible. The balance of action and rpg elements is untouchable. The film grain effect though, it's trademark. If you feel the way I do please just post VOTE. Hopefully BioWare will take notice. I understand it's supposed to eat at your systems budget, but at least give us PC players the option. I know I'm not alone on this. It has literally made me want to stop playing (won't, but kinda want to). Other than that, bang up job BioWare!

I just wanna cry when playing Mass Effect 3... they removed so many features and cheaped out on so many assets. I can't fathom how can a simple filter effect like film grain can be so goddamn costly as to be removed? When ME2 was brought to PS3, it was touted to be running on the third game's engine. It had film grain, so why doesn't this? Bioware, I am dissapoint.

You see all in all I liked everything in original Mass Effect better. Film Grain really had no development troubles it's just a screen effect that can be enabled or disabled. There was no reason to strip that away. I'm going to keep the subject on topic so I wont rant about anything else here. But the lackluster of film grain bothers me a lot, but BioWare is one of those companies who only listens to the masses, and we're in minority here.

+1 as well. Was a great feature in ME1 & ME2. Things look too "clean" in ME3 now, bit like in modern movies with CGI and stuff.

I support this. I never liked film grain but having an option for those who do is best.

If ME3 uses essentially the same engine as ME2, processing overhead for film grain should be negligible. I support its inclusion as well.

I would like to have it as option as well. I am wondering myself why they have also hard-disabled it. I.e. you can't even enable it via settings in the .ini file.

I'll support it as an option because I know a few people that like it. I however hate it

I want film grain and weapons holstering.
Stop shrinking the sequel and make it worse then prequels. It's odd!

Yes! Please patch in the film grain!

I'd rather have a holster weapons patch, but both are such trivial aspects I doubt bioware will listen.

I missed the grain effect in ME3. I always thought half the reason they had the grain option in the first game was to cover up the shoddy graphics. I loved the design of some parts, like the Citadel, Illos and Eden Prime but it was obvious that the engine was extremely unpolished and BW did not have a good grasp of the UE3 engine. I really wish they had at least tried to patch the 360 version to fix the horrendous frame rate problems. ME2 was a step up but ME3 is beautiful. The biggest complement I can give ME3's graphics is that they don't [i]look[/l] like a UE3 game. I played ME2 after completing ME3 and was amazed at how bad the faces looked compared to 3, the faces in ME2 looked great at the time, with the exception of the cross eyed effect that carried over from ME1. I am glad I had no ****-eyed companions in ME3.

I support this, been a fan of the film grain since ME1. It just doesn't feel much the same...

I guess I'm one of the few players that did not like film grain. I played through both ME1 and ME2 entirely multiple times with it on and then noticed that I liked the experience more with it off. I'm glad that's it's off in ME3, yet I'm disappointed to see that there's no option to turn it on/off in ME3, for those that prefer it.
