I'm not sure if anyone sent it, but here - just in case: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/368/index/9346212/1
This mode can install Film Grain for ME3. Only film grain if you wish. I'm using it with Color Mod and FG looks pretty good.

I really don't see the point of artificial film grain. It makes the image look worse and defeats the purpose of using a digital cable like HDMI.

The Mass Effect games have flawed visuals, especially when it comes to texture quality. The film grain obscures the bad texture quality.

Your answer to the problem is to make the overall image worse? Brilliant.

No, it's to make the bad textures less noticeable. Like when people cap their fps at 50 to make the performance dips less jarring; and yes, it really is brilliant. Different strokes, but still, there IS logic behind it, and it doesn't exactly kill the image quality by much.

The smug denouncements really are retarded, though. If The Artist can win a nomination for Best Art Direction with its black-and-white color palette, then Mass Effect can sure as hell keep the optional film grain, elitist graphics hoars be damned. Just because you can't appreciate the look doesn't mean others can't.

God, this forum has gone downhill.

I don't think film grain makes the image look worse. It makes the game feel more like an old scifi movie, and I think it added immensely to the game's atmosphere.

The first time I played Mass Effect I hated film grain. Now I miss it. Imagine Rannoch with film grain! The possibilities are endless!

It would be the same with a nonsensical grainy layer of postprocessing blurring everything and degrading performance.

I always thought the film grain made for a better atmosphere, it was great in ME1. I'm all for it.

I would love to have it back too. I loved the effect in the first two games.

Is there really any reason why this isn't in the game already? Come on Bioware.
