You can lower more settings in the configuration utility, just like with the past games. To launch the configuration utility, find the location of Mass Effect 3's installation on your PC, go to the folder "Binaries" and run "MassEffect3Config". From their, you can turn down/off anisotropic filtering, motion blur, cinematic lights, and spherical harmonic lighting.
So far, this has worked for me. But I wonder, was it really so hard to put these settings into the options menu?

Scratch that. Even turning all those settings off, the game is still almost impossible to play if there's more than five enemies on the screen. Which is pretty much all the time. I need to turn the textures down. Lighting settings don't fix anything.
