I love the graphics in ME3. They're great, really. But my computer has a hard time running them. So I need lower settings. I looked in the options menu and... nothing. Some parts of the game run just as well as ME2 (I had zero problems running that on medium settings). But god forbid I go to an outdoors area. And if there are enemies rushing me on top of it? Forget it. I may as well drop my pants and bend over for them. And that's just the single player. Multiplayer is nigh impossible. I drop two frames and suddenly I'm dead and I have no idea from what. I try to roll out of the way of something and I get magnetized to a wall 20 feet away because I'm apparently over there instead of where the game shows me I am. It's completely ridiculous.

I agree, why eliminate graphics options when youre making a game even heftier? So far the game seems to fresh for any legitimate answer but if I find one Ill post it

You can lower more settings in the configuration utility, just like with the past games. To launch the configuration utility, find the location of Mass Effect 3's installation on your PC, go to the folder "Binaries" and run "MassEffect3Config". From there, you can turn down/off anisotropic filtering, motion blur, cinematic lights, and spherical harmonic lighting.

So far, this has worked for me.  But I wonder, was it really so hard to put these settings into the options menu?

Changing some of them may have required the game to restart anyways.

Scratch that. Even turning all those settings off, the game is still almost impossible to play if there's more than five enemies on the screen. Which is pretty much all the time. I need to turn the textures down. Lighting settings don't fix anything.

Anything? I didn't pay $80 for an unplayable game...

So digging through the MassEffect3Config.xml file, I found a section that appears to be related to the MassEffect3Config.exe file, particularly the video options portion. There's definitions set for lowering texture quality in the xml but the setting doesn't appear in the exe. I think this is what I need to lower but I can't. Is there another way to modify this setting?

Alright, by modifying the MassEffect3Config.xml file, I managed to add the option to adjust the texture quality by using the values pre-defined in the xml file. The three settings it can have are High, Normal, and Default ("Default" value is -9999 WTF?). I set it to normal. There's no change with my game.

This is really getting to be annoying guys.
