So I am playing using Shale primarily with this play through, and since I usually don't use the armies on the archdemon (I don't know why, I just don't like to) - I was wondering what element I should equip with Shale to fight it with.

I usually use spirit, but I am assuming that the demon is immune. So, ice, nature, or lightning works best?

Apparently, the Archdemon is supposed to be nearly immune to cold, electricity and spirit, so I guess you should try to KILL IT WITH FIRE.

Use Lightning, it tends to be one of the better elements to use ingame since most enemies aren't resistant to it. For the Arch-demon battle, have Shale wear some Spirit resistant crystals for armor.

Or maybe nature, I'll test it out and get back to my own post i guess, I was hoping to save time =X

its pretty weak against that horde of NPC's you bring with you when you fight it. just don't use your mage allies on one of the earlier sections, save em for the big fight. a dozen mages will tear his **** up in no time. your own party won't even have to touch him really.

Thats right! i just left the mages to take hi mdown while me and my party were busy with keeping the darkspawn at bay. It was actually easier than broodmother...

I think it is resistant to all elements alike...



Spirit-combo-spell damage on Nightmare: Death Hex + Death Cloud (with preloaded double debuff of Vulnerability Hex and Affliction Hex) Yielded on-the-dot 798 damage. Time after time.



I've played the final fight against him several times on Nightmare, so I'm sure that's how much it does. He casts spells as well but has no mana-pool so ManaClash, thankfully, doesn't work - or else Mages would be one shotting him (on Nightmare or otherwise)

spirit hit him well... with hexes even better

The archdemon had my band of 14 mages for supper while I was messing with the ballista and my party was following me around the ballista instead of fighting the stupid archdemon!

I got my arse kicked three times and I am on casual....

Archdemon is easy (atleast at normal =/) I just DPS it down. Morrigan though can still freeze it with cone of cold so I guess that doesn't make it completely immune to cold.
