I'll attempt to be polite here, but I am livid right now, as I have an $80 Collectors Edition of ME3 that is basically a paperweight as far as I'm concerned.

Like thousands of other people from the way this looks, I  have a BSA  and Origin account that need to be merged.  I  have DLC attached to both accounts.  In fact, I have $35 of DLC  that I just downloded for ME2 into my "Origin" account that I can't access in ME2 b/c it does have access to the Cerberus Network.  Access to the Network is available on my "BSA" account.  My plan was to finish up some downloadable content before porting the toon into my new ME3.

No such luck there.

I've just spent 45 minutes in EA  Live Chat with Ajit Nath T. who took 5-10 minutes between responses, refused to help, refused to escalate at my request, and eventually disconnected me from the chat room.  He insisted that they can't merge the accounts, and yet I can find records all over the web of EA doing that exact thing.

Not to mention that Bioware is telling us specifically to contact EA  to do this.

Bioware, you and EA  need to get on the same page, and make these mergers happen  They should have been put in place LONG  before the launch of this game.  To make matters worse, even if I  can get the accounts merged, I'm also finding records of the merges going through and people losing access to their DLC.  Obviously retaining the DLC is the entire reason for merging them.  Customers should not have to pay for the same DLC  twice, just because you guys and EA can't get your account information together to appropriately verify the DRM.

If this gets fixed within the next week, I might even consider buying another EA/Bioware game in the future.  Or not.

And, after waiting for another 45 minutes to speak to someone else on EA Live Chat, I am again disappointed.

The person typed in such awful english (they are all located in China) that I could not understand what they were asking. Therefore, I told them this and then asked to be transferred to a native english speaker for further assistance. "Akash" then provided be with a prescript saying that my "language was inappropriate and not allowed". He then ended the chat session.

Seriously?

I think I had spoken to Akash on this and was told they don't merge accounts, they can't help with this and he promptly ended the chat - which lasted probably less than a minute.

This is disappointing since my last chat with EA support went rather well (ME: Pinnacle Station code had maxed out. Explained the problem, got a new code - was told I'd unfortunately have to do this again since the code can't be unregistered like Mass Effect 1 - but overall smooth operation).

I am having the same issue with them. They wont merge or fix my account. My BSN account has a EA account linked to it that I do not use. Nor do I want to. I want my normal EA account linked to it nor do i want to create a seperate BSN account.

Ok, for those who used the Live chat and didnt get anywhere, I went on to their site and requested a call back. Thankfully they were able to resolve my issue and get everything straighten out. Go on their site and request a call back. I also made sure they mention this post and my issues with their two chat techs mgnt, so they can be made aware of the issue.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that next.

I think the community would really like to hear from Bioware on this issue. It's a bit ridiculous that Bioware is telling us to pursue a specific course of action, we pursue it, and then EA tells us that it's not possible.

What a mess.

I agree, I bought ME3 today, came home, tried signing in with this BSN account, failed, tried creating an account with my E-mail address, that failed, I created a new e-mail address and ID just to get the game and therefore I am unable to post in ME3 related sections.

Hey Roguecmdr, did they actually merge your two accounts together when you called??? Like everyone else, I have SW:TOR on one account and all my other games on another. Thanks!

Hey Jesse.Reid, will that work for SWTOR merging as well as the ME3?

Hmm... I'm not 100% sure as SWTOR might be using a different account system. You could try. Message me your accounts and I can take a look.

I just got off chat with EA and they are not cooperating with me either. HE EVEN OFFERED TO MERGE THE ACCOUNTS! then came back and said he can't do it and disconnected. WTF!! I don't think this is a bioware issue but I think its a big pita to have to deal with EA just to post on the BSN. I love mass effect and like talking mass effect with other ME fans but if nobody can resolve my problems or tell me how to do it myself then why continue to support either company. I have already stopped buying EA games. I hope that I do not have to do the same with Bioware. This needs to be fixed or Bioware will lose a lot of customers

Hey KevWestBeats, I was actually on the phone with BioWare tech support for quite some time and got moved around from one tech person to another. They tried their darnest to merge my accounts but in the long run... they do not have control over it but they were quite helpful and really nice about everything especially Jesse Reid from this forum. But at the end of the day, its all up to EA to merge accounts but you have to get to the right person, which so far, I haven't had any luck with.

Thanks Cyrius7 I wish that the 2 just were not attached the way that they are. I PM'd Jesse about the situation yesterday prior to posting in the thread. I still have not heard back from him since his initial PM back. I dont know what to think. Its more annoying than anything because none of my friends play the ME series and I just want to talk ME with people

Hi Guys, I've run into this as well... the way that Origin/EA/Bioware/Mythic has their accounts structured is beyond confusing. Between the 4 sites, I have tried to consistently use the same account name etc, The Origin Master Account name will not work on *any* of the sites when I try to log in, I am constantly forced to use my email address for this.

Furthermore, when logging into a particular site and going to account management, I get jumped from one site to the next.

Currently my main issue is that I want to see ALL of my games under a single account. Similar to what Blizzard has done with Battlenet.

As it stands now, I have games listed under Origin, EA, Bioware, Mythic (which points back to EA I think when you click on account management). I can't register Warhammer AoR on Bioware site as it is registered on the EA site. Why not? Just allow me to link or merge accounts?! I've used the same email for all of these accounts, why is it so hard to automatically merge them upon account creation?

So, who has gone through this merge process? What exactly happens, how are the accounts merged? Then after they are merged, what site is to be used to access game/content information?

Thanks in advance!

Draz

The big issue with merging accounts is having SWTOR linked to one of them. Support is hesitant to merge those accounts as it could cause problems with the game. However, if you haven't played SWTOR it shouldn't be a problem.

Hopefully the following will help clear up the whole Origin / EA / BioWare account understanding.

If you are logged into this website you are using an Origin account. The account system used to be called an EA account and long before that it was called Nucleus. This system has been around for years so if you've played an EA title in at least the last 4 years you have at least one Origin account.

Because there have been a number of different places you can signup for an account over the years there is a lot of confusion as to what your account is. A lot of people have auto-generated Origin accounts from their consoles created using the email address linked to that gamertag.

So BSN accounts authenticate using Origin accounts. An EA account is an Origin account. And last I heard Mythic was working toward using Origin accounts but I don't know if all of their games are using it yet.

Anyway, for people having problems merging accounts or finding out what account their gamertag is linked to please post here and we'll do our best to help you out.

The only people who can merge your accounts are EA customer support. When you are trying to merge your accounts give them the email addresses of your Origin accounts. Don't tell them you want to merge a BSN account and an Origin account as that will likely confuse the matter. If you need help identifying what your Origin accounts are please post here.

The help link to use is:

Thanks for the reply, Jesse.Reid.

So, what is the answer for all the poor souls out there with SWTOR on one of their Origin accounts, which I'm guessing, is alot of people?

I'll PM you my details, and see if you can provide any additional info. Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.

EA won't merge my accounts. I don't play SWTOR and I didn't mention "Origin" in my email, but they said merging accounts is not possible.

"Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts and letting us know about your issue.

I appreciate your interest in the game and assure you to provide the continual support throughout from my end.

Please accept my genuine apology for the way you have been made to feel. We at EA, strive to make our customers have an exceptional experience. Any deviation from this is dealt very critically. Your case definitely merits attention and I assure you my support in getting this sorted out.

I went through your issue. I wish to suggest you that account merge is not possible. Please try to understand it is something that is beyond the reach of my hand.

I wish I could help you in this. Trust me, had it been possible, I would have certainly processed your request.

I humbly ask for your understanding regarding this matter and I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. "

You actually think they'll respond to empirical evidence. That is so adorable.

Jesse, there has to be a solution other than "contact the indoctrinated husks over at EA support and hammer at them for three days until they decide you're not going to go away until they put down the Idiot Ball." This is getting me nowhere.

Dear Jesse, I have exactly the same problem as many in here. I tried to solve the problem two times with the online-chat of EA support. One was helpful the other not, but both said they could not help, even after I linked them the website you mention. The helpful one managed at least to transfer some DLC for ME3 which I had already activated with the "bioware social network account" (which I used so far for registring every game) to my other account which is the only one usable with the origin client.

Also, it is worth mentionig that my  "bioware social network account", which is also supposed to be an origin account, does not allow a login with the origin client!

If you have any information on how to resolve this issue, please tell us. But EA support will definitely not help, so the information on the website you linked seems to be wrong.

Right now I am posting with my origin account which I can use with the origin client. All my previous games are registered with my other account. For SWTOR I have again a different account, with its own login name and separate password.

Hey guys, if you contact EA support and they say they can't merge your accounts you can send me a message. In that message please include the following:
1) Chat log or ticket ID and/or name of who you talked with
2) Account email addresses that you want merged.

From there Chris and I will escalate the problem onto our contact at EA support.

Please do not contact me if you haven't already contacted EA support or if you are trying to merge an account that has SWTOR linked to it.
