Stock photos have been used less than the old "[adjective] [noun] is [adjective]." Besides, in this case it makes the valid point that stock photos have no place in an AAA game.

.....all I have to say is.....if they were in a hurry, why didn't they just make a DLC mission to finally see a quarian face?
I'm not hating, but Bioware is good at putting  'very important story related elements' as DLC.
Also,
I'm not even that far into the game (haven't even ran into Tali yet) and I stumbled unto the picture online. I guess I should stay away from anything Mass Effect related until I beat it.

Do it. It's way too easy to spoil crucial plot points or be led the wrong way because some guy that rushed through and got a worst case scenario situation for EVERYTHING and wants to share.

It's just a random stock image on the internet. Bioware took it, photoshopped it to make it a bit less human, then used it as Tali's picture.

I don't think the picture itself looks all that bad, but it does look a little too human. I actually mistook it for a picture of a human at first and had to double check to make sure I was looking at the right thing.

It was probably not the best idea to photoshop something from a mainstream stock photo site, but I do like how they revealed Tali's face.

Considering I romanced Tali, I liked it.... until now.

I like that they revealed Tali's face, but I feel like it should have been part of the romance scene, and have her face actually modelled in game. Essentially what the love scene already is, just don't pan the camera away to avoid seeing her face.

I agree, I was pleased with the design, it made sense with the lore and rewarded Talimancers...but they could've put in the effort to use the face with the model so you could see during her romance scenes or on Rannoch.

Also can I point out that they should have at least done a different background, that image background does not exactly show the Rannoch we were shown.

well, if this is the case and "tali's picture" really is just a photoshopped google image, then I guess we technically still never see tali's face.

What? An alien looking nonhuman? Oh heavens no! Surely she should look just like a human, else however will we be able to empathize with her?

If she'd looked like a squid it would have at least been interesting. As it is, though, we've already got one species of blue alien space babes. We don't need another.

It may be lazy to use a stock photo, but I think they did it the right way with the picture rather than showing her without the mask on a low def 3D model.
