Does anyone else imagine a FemShep/Tali romance and just feel....wrong? Like, she's just not meant to do it? It doesn't feel right.

Of course it doesn't. Neither does Miranda or Ashley, but people want it for some reason. Again, everyone has to be bisexual, apparently.

Not to sound like a homophobe, but thank god.

there's a fine line between supporting and providing legitimately good content for people and patronizing for the same group of people.

Though I will say that the logic I hear as to why they scrapped Ashley's planned S/S romance is pretty stupid, IMO.

Let me guess; they didn´t want to upset faux news??

Surprisingly, no. Almost as surprisingly as Fox News' completely silence about the S/S romances even being in ME3. We all remember their little piece on ME1, yes?

In all seriousness, it was something about Ashley being bisexual wouldn't be "true to her character". It's a non-reason.

I agree that it woldn't be true to her character, and her being a Christian sits right at the top. I'd image there's not a lot of bisexual Christians. Just throwing it out there.

But it isn't ever explicitly stated that she's a Christian, is it? In fact, her religion is pretty ambiguous all around, IIRC.

It's not explicitly stated, but it's implied explicity. She talks about believing in God and even asks the Commander if he
does too. You also have a myriad of choice to reply with too, IIRC.

Her religion isn't really brought up in 3 though, not that big a part of her character IMO.

Yes, but is he a Judeo-Christian god? A Norse god? Buddha?

She doesn't literally say he's a God. She says he's *like* a God, rising from the dead.

I personally disagree.  After her trial her line to Shepard about linking suits is exactly the same to both genders.  Her mannerisms during the conversation also make it seem like she is nervous because she is talking to her crush.

As another poster pointed out, this is one area I thought DA2 nailed.  Romances were available to both genders no matter what AND if you wanted to pursue the romance it was a seperate dialogue choice.  I always hated in ME where if I didn't want a romance I would have to be a but of a dick at some point.

The intolerance is almost the same, mind you...

But saying because someone was born with certain sexual orientation can't have certain religion is simply mindblowing... specially when there is evidence to the contrary in the real world. The only possible argument would be to say that they "are not real christians" and that would be a no true scotsman fallacy...

It has everything to do with it, you dunce (you decided to insult me, I'll throw one back). It far more accepted in foreign countries than here in the U.S..

But it's just stupid for everyone in the galaxy to be bisexual - people don't work like that! In fact, as far as I know, only about 2-5% of people (depending on what study you look at) are bisexual - so having everyone be bisexual makes no sense at all.

It's okay to have maybe one bisexual character and a couple gay ones, but the majority of the characters should be hetero.

As I said, the condemnation and intolerance is the same...

But that does not mean that somoeone stops believing just because they were born with a different sexual orientation. That is my point.

A LGBT person does not need the permission of their church to be who they are, and can look for a denomination that is more inclusive, but that does not stop them from beign christians.

Even a quick search can land you into gaychristian net etc...

One thing is what the chruch says, and another entirely different is what the LGBT person believes.

This is not even my battle, since I'm an atheist, but I know a lot of LGBT  theists of different religions and denominations to know that the statement does not hold water.

For God's sake...

I can't believe I have to reference Wikipedia for this, but here it goes:

http://en.wikipedia....ty_in_the_Bible

"Denominations that oppose homosexuality include the Roman Catholic Church[2] the Eastern Orthodox churches[3] and some mainline Protestant denominations, such as the Methodist churches,[4][5][6][7] Reformed Church in America[8] the American Baptist Church,[9] as well as Conservative Evangelical organizations and churches, such as the Evangelical Alliance,[10] the Presbyterian Church in America[11] and the Southern Baptist Convention.[12][13][14] Many Pentecostal churches such as the Assemblies of God,[15] as well as Restorationist churches, like Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons, also take the position that homosexual sexual activity is immoral.[16][17]

Other Christian denominations do not view monogamous same-sex relationships as sinful or immoral, and may bless such unions and consider them marriages. These include the United Church of Canada, and the United Church of Christ.,[18] all German Lutheran, reformed and united churches in EKD,[19] all Swiss reformed churches, the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, the Church of Denmark, the Church of Sweden, the Church of Iceland and the Church of Norway. The Church of Finland also allows prayer for same-sex couples.[20] In particular, the Metropolitan Community Church was founded specifically to serve the Christian LGBT community. The Global Alliance of Affirming Apostolic Pentecostals (GAAAP), traces its roots back to 1980, making it the oldest LGBT-affirming Apostolic Pentecostal denomination in existence.[21] Another such organization is the Affirming Pentecostal Church International,
currently the largest affirming Pentecostal organization, with churches
in the US, UK, Central and South America, Europe and Africa."

Read the first half, and then the second half. You'll see what I mean.

Hardcore Christia

Hmmm... Maybe religious people aren´t so tight assed in the future about such things. I mean, if f.ex Christians didn´t evolve in their belief they would probably still burn people on the stake for just looking at them wrong
Besides, being gay/bisexual doesn´t seem to be such a big issue in the ME universe.

It seems to me that if pagans such as yourself didn't evolve that you'd still be crucifying, stoning, feeding to the lions, boiling alive, beheading, and generally murdering Christians.  It's been a while since anyone killed in the name of Christ, and it will probably be a while longer before that ever happens again.  But there sure are examples *today* of people killing Christians, aren't there?  And if you read the Book of Revelation, it seems that you're going to be overjoyed to massively do so yet again in the future.  Too bad you probably won't be around to see it, DevilBeast, the boy who lives up to his screenname.
