I don't think that nose is in anymore... The rest is doable.. Do you have an ME2 facecode?

It's 443.P67.T11.W21.C62.24N.12H.7C1.WU6.W25.9G6.376

Best of luck...

Well, it's still far from ideal, but definitely better than what the importer gave you. Fixed the cranial shape and nose-mouth proportions a bit to give you a better starting point for your own tweaks.

I definitely appreciate your effort - and one thing that's spot on is the hair color.  Maybe not the precise auburn from the previous games, but way closer than what the importer assigned.

But, I have to agree...far from ideal.  Probably just because I'm more familiar with the character, I've been able to get somewhat closer to the ME2 version by tweaking the import or even just starting from scratch, and doing a lot of experimenting with every aspect, from 'facial structure' on down.  I just don't think the game can manage it.  Like someone said in a different thread, I think it's a matter of meshes or something.

And really, to me, it's not only far from ideal, but far from acceptable.  I just can't sit there and play this like it's supposed to be a character that it looks nothing like.  Can't do it.  So...shelved.  I hope eventually this can be patched, or modded, or something.

Funky-looking faces were always one of my least favorite thing about the older Bioware stuff.  With ME2, DA2, and swtor, I thought they had made a lot of progress toward overall better face designs.  I'm kind of stunned this happened with ME3.

Well, for the 20 minutes i put into it, I think I did well, hehe...

Personally, I believe that Hale's voice and a little more tweaking will cover your suspension of disbelief 4-5 hours into the story. It would be a waste to miss the end of a 5 year journey for this...

For some people, maybe.  Not for me.

I'm trying to do a custom Shepard both in Mass Effect 2 and 3 but always end up dissatisfied of the result. It's either the jaws or the ears, too big, in the way or whatever. Some graphic glitch also look terrible in Mass Effect 2 when my Shepard closes his eyes. So I guess I'll have no choice but to play with Sheploo and name him John since I can't even identity myself as the brunette and hazel eyes I want to be without the game slapping me with the graphical mistakes.

My import looked completely different too and I tried to remake him as best as I could but to no avail. I feel like the CC in ME3 is inferior to the previous two.

is it just me, or is this problem with imports looking different from in ME2 mainly a femshep thing?

Not entirely. My second male Shepard doesn't look right. And I'm not sure how to fix him, his whole face structure seems to be different.

My ME1 character imported to 2 both looked like she had subtle Asian ancestory, but imported to to ME3 you can really pick out the Asian influence in her background.

For anyone else who is having this issue, here's a poll someone made:

http://social.biowar...20/polls/29029/

It's for both people who are getting the face import error, and people who can import "but the face looks drastically different."

There are quite a few people in the same boat as me: they can't get something that looks like their old appearance no matter how many times they try, and they don't even want to play with a character who just looks like a different person than their Shepard from 1 and 2.

Thanks.  The only potentially helpful thing I saw there was this:

"First, Make sure the latest patch is installed. Right click on the game in Origin, and select "Check for Update" to manually download and install the Mass Effect 3 Patch. The patch has some fixes for the facial import bug."

I never got an error when I imported my face, because it was re-created from scratch in ME2.  But I checked for updates anyway, and there was one, and it installed.  But, it didn't make any difference.

So no, unfortunately that doesn't help.

Or was there something else there that I missed?

Can you not increase head size or face length or something? That seems to me to be the most obvious change, the ME2 face is much longer with longer forehead and jaw (plus nose seems wider in ME3 version)

I've tried all kinds of things, face size, different facial structures, etc.

I think the bottom line is, the same options from ME2 are there in the cc, but the game translates them to look like something different.  Having said that, I have been able to get slightly better results with different facial structures / sizes, but given how big the difference is, "slightly better" isn't enough.

I've never used the CC properly...my efforts made Ugly Shep look like a male model. And my attempt at a Fem Shep literally looked like she'd fallen from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

How did your Shep get the exact same armor in ME1 and ME2? I didn't know that was possible.

You mean they finally understood that black people do not just have dark skin, and that asian people do not jsut have squinted eyes?

Well done Bioware :)

Modding. :) For the ME2 one it's technically not armor, it's her casual attire onboard the Normandy.

wow, the original one has an uncanny resemblence to Khloe Kardashian to me.

I personally like the ME3 version better myself, but I realize continuity is very important.  Goodluck trying to recreate her.

I have to wonder then if the modding isn't the problem.  I had some modded characters in ME1 and ME2 also, but I sure wouldn't expect them to look exactly the same in ME3.

I just redid the games using the default MShep so I wouldn't have to think about it anymore.  Lazy or Brilliant, not sure.

Modding apparel has nothing to do with faces.
