It is like they finished the game and remembered that they needed to show what Tali looks like after they already finished. Someone was like oh crap we just announced the game has gone gold but we left out the Tali Reveal and Casey said oh well just google a pic for a attractive female. I mean seriously all they did was add like 3 black lines and blacked out two of her fingers.

Since ME1 so around 6 years the fans wanted to know what Tali and quarians looked like and all they get is a pic off the internet where someone used MS paint on.

I think the biggest mistake wasn't using a stock photo, but revealing what the her face looked like at all. Everybody imagined what the Quarians looked like in a different way and that was part of Tali's appeal.

Don't care if I'd known Tali looked like that I'd of ditched MIranda, Jack, and Ashley.

Im pretty sure it was rushed since Tali originally wasn't going to be a squad member. I think in the scene where she removes her mask, they should have shown her briefly, or a close up on her lips talking and that's it. Or at least they should have crop the photo or something and change the background a bit.

It's true you can't satisfy everyone. But most of us who are angry about Tali in particular are angry because it just seemed so bloody lazy. They put so much effort into a lot of other portions of ME3, yet the only thing they give us is a photoshopped stock photo that to anyone with a decent amount of experience with photoshop could do in 10 minutes.

It just makes them look lazy doing it that way, if I had known that they were going to do it this way I would have asked them to not put it in at all.

Seems to me that Tali ended the series much like she entered it. She always seemed like a last minute addition to me in ME1. It was like they needed a group that created the Geth, so they wrote in the Quarians but never really 'fleshed' (lol) them out completely. They had a good story but the character seemed like they put hips on a Turian and gave it a mask. On fact it's been a long time since I played through ME1 but I don't recall seeing a single other quarian in that game.

Despite the rushed character model Tali ended up being one of the most compelling characters in the game. I always visited her between missions to see if she had any new dialog and it all beat anything Ashley had to say. When she started her "oh captain my captain" stuff I avoided her like the plague.

Anyway it seems like the quarian model never got the attention out deserved. I mean in ME3 when you enter the Geth network shouldnt the Quarians be unmasked in the Geth memory? They hadnt left the home world yet so they wouldnt need the environ suits...

Tali deserved more than the picture. I don't care if they model her after the human form of a face or not, but it seems like they made a model and them made a story to fit it.

Actually, they address that with a little "explainer". If I recall correctly (having played that level a week or so ago - so this won't be exact), Shepard asks Legion why the Quarians appear wearing their suits, and Legion explains that it isn't a straight visual record - that just like other aspects of the Fade Consensus, Shepard's brain is doing the interpreting / visualizing. Legion then asks what he probably things is a rhetorical question: "Have you ever seen a Quarian unmasked?" Since I had romanced Tali in ME2, my Shepard says "well... one", and Legion says that my brain apparently doesn't map that particular Quarian into this situation.

All said, though, yes, I was hoping for unmasked, fully modeled and textured Quarians: especially Tali of course, but also on the homeworld and in this scene. Sad.

Picture aside the Tali romance is very well done even with the shorter night scene. The flirting, the Rannoch sequence, the drunk part was very well done imho. Her last conversation was heartbreaking too. I can forgive the picture because Tali is in a unique position in the series. She is the only LI that you never see really, her appeal is 100% based on her voice actor and the writing. This means bioware would have a huge hurdle to cross with any picture of her or her look. I seriously don't think they would win either way. And you know what? The pic in the game is gorgeous so I cut them some slack, and the arc of her character and the romance was satisfying overall.
