I was lvl 9, my other characters still retain their levels but shepard was reset to level 1.

How it happened, I first did the two Cyrberus missions (got the Alien and investigated their research labs).  Now I decided to do the rescue the leader mission (the first mission after visiting Citadel the first time).  I walked away from the computer for 5-6 minutes leaving it on the character selection screen.  When I came back I selected the characters and the game locked up on the following load screen.  Waited about 2 minutes and wouldn't go to the loadout screen.  I alt-F4 closed the game, re-opened it.  The game starts up at the character selection screen for the mission, loads good but once I get to the level up screen I'm level 1 and everyone else is lvl 9....

Now I have to start the game over...  (at least I wasn't that far into it)

My imported character has this sporadically too. I have to keep reverting to earlier saves. Happened on lvl 31, 35, 39 and 41. each time after dying, i'd continue the game and my shep would have the default face, no powers (just points) and a default level 1.

Thank goodness for level restarts and previous saves.

I just had this happen to me. Suddenly became level 1, while my squad mates are level 41. Anyone know of a way to change my characters level quickly so I don't have to replay things?

I'm having this problem too, Shepard reset to level 1 from 30+. Also lost all the credits. Annoying as all hell.

My character just reset to level 1 and my previous save that was not a quick save is over 4 hours back. All credits gone also.

Same thing happend too me at lvl 34 or 36 can't remember which cause I didn't keep track. But now all of the sudden as I had finished the mission of curing the genophage I am suddenly reverted too lvl1 and lost all the credits and all the skills are locked with emptyness, and apperently my armors I bought are also gone. I guess I'll just go play MP until Bioware fixes this crap.

yeah, either that or when a save editor comes out

Indeed but I get fast tired of MP too many noobs for the moment but what else is there to expect. Still I can't wait for exploring the SP story, it's everything that makes this game. And now alot of players can't even progress as they should cause of an serious bug.

Same, VERY annoying. Reset to level one occurred on a 1+2 imported shepherd, reset occurred when I started a multiplayer character for the first time, named and customized him. However, I did not even start a match, since my friend backed out.

I then went back to single player, and was shocked to find Shepherd reset to level 1. My companions are in their 40s I think.

same here. I was on Rannoch, i had just achieved 'almost there' by hitting level 50. I then beat the reaper and got up to level four?

This seems like a serious bug, glad it hasn't happened to me yet. BioWare not testing their games before shipping anymore?

ouch. sorry man. I was lucky. I had Just saved about 20 or so minuts before. which is odd cause I don't normally make a permanat save all that often...


say, why not go for a 'low level' challange? you must admit, it will give you one hell of an advantage....

 Unfortunately the same has just happened to me. Lost around 2 hours between the last save game that had the correct level and the latest autosave. Don't know what's going on with that, but I sure will save more often now!

Save often! Happened to me too but I had a manual save10 minutes before it broke

Same happened to me after doing the genophage mission on tutchanca. What the crap? At least I can "restart" the mission, but playing through missions again is quite annoying... I guess we'll just have to do manual saves quite often from now on

A lot of people seem to have this problem... Should hope they fix this is a patch. Soon.

Happened to me as well. Lost about 2 hours and I am really unmotivated to replay them right now.
I simply lost my powers for some missions and thought it was normal because of the atmosphere on Tchulanka or something. (Hell why not... how should I have known)
Well then i wanted to level up and am suddenly at lvl 4 down from 35. =/

Not playing this game again untill this issue has been fixed.
So far, not a very good game at all.

same thing happend to me too my shep lost his powers too its verry anoying bug.
I played yesterday and went to bed wanted to resume and my sheppard turned level 1 verry anoying.
now i have to back to a previous save lost around 6 hours of gameplay ><

Same god damn problem it's very frustrating Sheppard's skills all locked all my money gone...and my last quick save made 15 hrs ago.Need quick response from bioware cant play game like this.
