If you play RPGs for the story you should play Final Fantasy and other JRPG's. Those are all about the story and the characters. It's like the opposite of Skyrim/Fallout (which are both great in their own way).
NO...
I also like playing my games.
NO....
I also like the story when it makes sense.
What do you mean by that ? Gameplay varies a lot. Like Star Ocean is almost 100% hands on skill based combat (modified by stats)
They do make sense, not quite a simple as a CRPG plot maybe, but they make sense (with the odd exeption)
Well they sure as hell don't make sense to me.
And any game that forces me to pick actions from a list.... then wait to do it again turns me off completely.
I have a friend who LOVES Final Fantasy.
Got me to try each one in the series.
He lends me 13 and there's this one cutscene and I'm sitting here scratching my head wondering wtf is going on? then it goes back to the game and I'm pressing X a bunch of times to attack and then I die.
I have to watch the cutscene again and I was done.
I took the game back to him and said "just do us both a favor and don't bother bringing these games to me anymore."
XIII being real time and FAST can be a shock to the system. If you don't have a handle on the paradigim shifts you are likely boned.
My tastes are very eclectic I can play/enjoy/understand almost anything as long as the quality is good. I even play CoD.
But I remember my introduction to JRPGS and that was not exactly smooth. Took me several attempts to stop seeing them in CRPG terms. Once I got over it though, never really looked back.
If it's not your thing, no big.

It doesn't excuse the shinanigans of giving ME3 a zero, or making ridiculously vacuous comments, but at some point you do have to stop and ask yourself - why are they doing this to me?
This is what I was thinking. GTA4, Skyrim, Red dead, and Fallout have good user scores compared to their critic score. This is clear frustration not just trolls
THIS.
It isn't trolls being trolls, haters being haters. Everyone DOES something for a reason. Why did they end up hating BioWare that much? It's not just the day one paid DLC, it's the bigger picture.
It is pure and simple frustration from gamers who don't know how to make their voice heard other than acting like trolls.

I agree with you completely. I LIKED FFXIII & bought XIII-2 on day1 , played COD (and enjoyed it) , battlefield (In this case multiplayer) , any game that 'fan boys' rages on about.
I can't even remember the only game that I stopped playing and rate it 0/10 so the ratings are ridiculous
Well , I can even say I enjoyed Dragon Age II but just felt it isnt as 'epic' as Origins.
And any game that don't have a ending like the game 'RAGE' is good IMO cause that just suck so bad.

If someone doesn't like a game you like? TROLL. HATER. /v/4CHAINS RAID. BANNU.
Yeah, no.
Reapers, a semi-organic machine race, want to destroy all sentient organic life so sentient organic life doesn't create artificial intelligence which will then take over, destroying all sentient organic life. It's the most insulting piece of science fiction anyone has been exposed to since the Star Wars prequels.

So you saying it's the kids spitting their dummy out and stamping their feet!
Certainly looks that way to me.
Pretty pathetic when "gamers" get all butt hurt over 1 tiny thing in/about a game and bad mouth it.
Good job the vast majority of people take no notice of sites like that anyway.

More like people protesting in the streets because the official channels are all controlled by the government.
When you have a Bioware employee saying "It will hurt" I would not be so sure.

People have various things to complain about, tiny or less tiny, and those add up to a rather big negative reaction.

The funny thing is that the game will probably end up with a user score of 7 once the fans start coming in and thus their trolling will all be in vain.

I gave it a decent 4/10. Note: *decent*. That was me trying to be rational. ME3 doesn't deserve a 0/10 and besides, who the hell cares about user scores on metacritic, heh. The least they could have done was to give it a middle-average score, 0/10 followed by ranting and raving about DAY 1 DLC or GHEYSECHS or PROTEINSQUADMAT isn't doing the review any 'justice'.
tl;dr = Who cares.

Yeah thanks for the spoilers, and now I can't even insult you like it should be mandatory to.
Let's all give ME3 zeroooes because the end doesn't appeal to my amazing literature criteria.

It seems you are doing the exact same thing though. Don't like their opinions? Well, they don't like yours either, that is life.
The hypocrisy is astonishing. I remember how the metacritic scores where used by people who defended Mass effect 2 against the "haters". Now it is the other way arround.
Let's face the fact that in the end user scores are a valid indicator of a game that is not just confined to production values but also business ethics, fan treatment and quality within the big picture of a franchise.
Professional reviews not only ignore many of these aspects, they would also hurt them selfs when writing something negative about those who feed them.

It's a bunch of no life trolls over on the /v/ chan forums spamming. Seriously, it's obvious that these people have never got laid and they probably will never get laid if all they do is spam reviews across metacritic for games they dislike.
Ahah. Well they must have their rage fix.

True but quite frankly if I had the game and an account on there I might of just give it 10/10 anyway just to counter the trolls reviews.

Good over-generalization there champ. I never did anything like this, and I'm pretty sure many people didn't. Most important and as matter of fact, I don't need anyone else's frakked up "opinion" to realise that Mass Effect 2 is and shall be for some time a hell of a game.
