UPDATE: After even more haggling, I got EA to delete the associations on the other account and reissue my BSN account a new CE code. Victory.

UPDATE: After a long and protracted 2 hour battle with a rep and supervisor, it seems I shall pick up my banner another day. Transcript below:

You are now ready to chat with Partha.
you:
Hey
you:
The email address associated with this Origin account has been deleted
you:
Can you help me transfer the authorizations (such as games and DLC) under it to another Origin account?
Partha:
Thanks for contacting EA , I am Partha , How may I help you ?
Partha:
hi
Partha:
Sorry , but the games  can not be transferred .
you:
I have read many stories of other people who have been able to get this done from EA Customer Support.
you:
Why can't I get this done?
you:
In fact I was told to ask EA customer support for this very issue
Partha:
Sorry , this is not possible , honestly speaking .
Partha:
Sorry , this is not possible , honestly speaking .
you:
According to http://social.biowar...ge/account-help
you:
I can contact EA help and ask them to move my Mass Effect 3 content from one Origin account to another
you:
Other people have gotten this done and there is a lot of proof floating around on the web.
you:
I do not want to sound confrontational or angry but it would be dishonest to say that this is impossible
Partha:
This is really impossible
you:
If this is impossible, can you explain how this user was able to merge content from 2 origin accounts
you:
http://www.alexnifty...ccounts-fiasco/
Partha:
According to ea policy we are not able to do so .
you:
I can provide many other instances
you:
where this has been done
Partha:
But , I am asked not to do so , sorry , if some one has did it by mistake ,
you:
I believe there must be some remedy to this issue
you:
I can verify ownership of the accounts in question
you:
Can you disable the serial keys on this origin account?
Partha:
Yes , I can disable the games
you:
Will I be able to reuse that serial key on a different account, then, along with the associated content?
Partha:
Sorry , again this is not possible .
you:
If you can disable the games on my account, then can you reissue the game
Partha:
No, not possible .
you:
I am sure there is someone in Origin/EA Customer Service who can help me
you:
What policy is preventing you from doing anything about this
Partha:
No, no one can do this , unless he goes against a poliy .
Partha:
Games can not be transferred .
you:
If i have ownership of both accounts, and can prove it, is the game really being transferred?
you:
It's not going to a different person
you:
I don't want a game on an account that is for all practical purposes, dead
Partha:
I know , but please do not repeat the same issue , as I am not able to do so .
Partha:
Anything else where I can assist you , today ?
Partha:

you:
I am not giving up, if you don't want to deal with this any further you can hand it off to somebody else
Partha:
All my collogues will say the same and the supervisor will tell the same also
you:
well, then I'd like to hear it from your supervisor
Partha:
Okay .
Partha:
Please allow me two minute .
you:
Yes. Thank you.
Partha:
Please tell me your ea account from where you want to transfer the games and also the games .a
you:
I want to transfer the games from xxxxxx@gmail.com to yyyyy@hotmail.com
you:
I would like to transfer Mass Effect 3, N7 Collectors Edition
you:
along with the bonus materials that came with it
you:
which include the N7 Collector's Edition materials
Partha:
Would you mind, if I place your chat on hold for couple of minutes to look into the issue? n
you:
Yes, thank you
Partha:
Tell me the DOB a/c to this account
you:
March 3rd, 1991
Partha:
What are the games in this account .
you:
xxxxxxx@hotmail.com has Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition attached to it. I have also played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Mass Effect 2 on it. yyyyyyy@gmail.com only has Mass Effect 3 on it
Partha:
DOB as xxxxxx@hotmail.com id
you:
March 3rd, 1991
Partha:
Sorry .not matching
you:
Let me log on it right now
Partha:
Of . course
you:
I registered this account on 9/28/07
you:
I have read that this may sometimes be interpreted as DOB
you:
I can provide the original email back from 2007
you:
when I registered xxxxxx@hotmail.com as an EA Master account
Partha:
I am afraid, the details provided do not match the ones in our database.
you:
I find that extremely hard to believe because I am looking at my accounts right now
you:
I do not believe my xxxxx EA Master account ever had a DOB associated with it because that is not visible anywhere in my profile info. There is only the date the account was registered
Partha:
The date of birth , can not be seen you too , I think .
you:
If that is the case
you:
Are there any other ways to prove I own both accounts
you:
there is a ton of games and DLC on my hotmail EA account that I have the CD keys for
you:
I use that account on the Bioware Social network
Partha:
Okay.
you:
And in fact I have a thread on that website protesting this complete travesty
you:
You can read it here
you:
http://social.biowar...index/9670698/1
Partha:
Sorry , but the DOB is compulsory.
Partha:
At times, it is difficult to recollect the details. Please take your time to get back to us with the correct details and we would be very happy to take this forward.
you:
I was born March 3rd, 1991, that should be my birth date for both accounts (as it is when I was born)
you:
I can provide the registration dates for both accounts
you:
and I can provide the CD keys for the games on the accounts
Partha:
Okay , tell me the registration dates .
you:
Email address: xxxxxx@hotmail.com Member since: Sep 29, 2007
you:
Email address:yyyyyy@gmail.com Member since:Jul 20, 2011
you:
if I entered some mistaken information on my old, primary account
you:
it's 5 years old
you:
and I have little to no way of knowing whether or not is correct
you:
I can provide TONS more evidence
you:
to show I own both of those accounts
Partha:
Now , I am sure that both the account is yours , but please recall the date of birth ,and your issue is resolved .
Partha:
I am believing you .
Partha:
But we have to follow rules
you:
I was born 3/3/1991 and if your databases say anything else for either of those accounts I am still not giving up. Is it matching 1 or none, and which is it matching.
Partha:
And as the DOB will verified , the issue is solved
Partha:
No , not matching .
you:
Matching NONE of them?
Partha:
Yes .
you:
Hold on a second
Partha:
Sure .
you:
I am going to have to dig around on these accounts because theres a real possibility i put in a joke DOB for both of them
Partha:
May be
you:
Do you have any means of authentication? heck I could get the facebook accounts i have associated with my email addresses, my birth certificate, and my drivers license, and would that be enough?
Partha:
Sorry , they will not help.
you:
If EA accounts got merged will that affect DOB
Partha:
Ea , accounts can not be merged .
you:
i know that, but way back in the day during consolidation Command and Conquer, Battlefield, etc accounts all got unified under an EA Master account
you:
Even the fact that the account names under those email addresses are extremely similar (TKA_killerangel vs thekillerangel) isnt enough circumstantial evidence to prove my identity?
Partha:
I understand , I know , but without the DOB I am helpless .
you:
so both accounts have different ones?
Partha:
Yes .
you:
And there is NO other authentication method or security question?
Partha:
Did you used any credit card there ?
you:
I bought my Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age Origins games off Amazon.com and I can provide the invoices/receipts

OLD POST

I also have an Origin account, registered to the email address yyyyyy@gmail.com. I recently registered Mass Effect 3 on it. I did not know that I could use my old EA Master account instead of my new Origin account. I would like to, if possible, merge the content from my Origin account at yyyyyy@gmail.com into my EA account at xxxxxx@hotmail.com. I have read that this can be done, as indicated by this forum thread and this man's experience.

I have talked to multiple customer service representatives, and they have told me this cannot be done. Is it possible to, at the very least, delete the registrations attached to xxxxxx@gmail.com? The page on BSN on account support and merging says this is possible but I keep getting stonewalled by EA Customer Service (3/5 transcripts below).

You are now ready to chat with Ashish.
Ashish:
Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Ashish how may I help you?
you:
Hello
you:
I would like to merge my older EA account with my newer Origin Account
you:
I recently purchased Mass Effect 3 and it is registered to my Origin Account. I would like to move all my Origin account's contents to my older EA account
Ashish:
Hello, how are you?
Ashish:
Nice to see you.
you:
I hope you can resolve my issue.
Ashish:
I am afraid but it is no possible to merge two accounts.
Ashish:
If it were possible, I would've definitely processed your request.
you:
According to this page, EA Customer Support can help me merge an EA account and an Origin account
you:
http://social.biowar...ge/account-help
you:
OPTION 1 - Completely merging BSN and EA/Origin accounts (recommended): Note that if you do this change, you should consider asking EA Help (http://help.ea.com/)to also transfer all other related content from any other EA console titles you also previously played using that Gamertag/PSN name, and move that to the BSN account you intend to post with; essentially, merging the accounts into one.
Ashish:
Please let me check your both EA accounts.
you:
Do you need my login information? My EA account email is yyyyyy@hotmail.com, my origin account is xxxx@gmail.com
you:
if you can transfer the registration of Mass Effect 3 to my EA account, that would be great
you:
But merging the two, if possible, would be ideal.
Ashish:
The emails will be enough.
Ashish:
I am afraid that would not be possible.
you:
I think once solution would be removing the registration status of Mass Effect 3 from my Origin account. If that is done, will I be able to re-register it to my EA account?
Ashish:
I checked it Had it been possible, I wouldve definitely done it for you.
Ashish:
I wish I could help you with this, however as per our policy, I would not be able to do so.
you:
I see. Do you think you can transfer me to another representative?
Ashish:
If that would have been possible would have definitely done this for you.
you:
According to this forum thread, EA staff have assisted other players with merging accounts in the past
you:
http://forum.ea.com/...st/7782593.page
Ashish:
But this is no possible for now.
Ashish:
If it were possible, I would've definitely done for you.
Ashish:
Thank you for contacting EA. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
you:
Has the policy changed? Can you redirect me to another customer service representative?
you:
Are you still there?
Ashish:
I am sorry but that is not possible for now.
Ashish:
If you need help with anything else, please feel free to contact us anytime!
Ashish:
Thank you for choosing EA support. Have a nice day. Bye and take care.
The chat session has ended. Please contact us again if you need further help.

They're not bots. They're outsourced Indian labor who can't speak very good English and as such rely on canned phrases provided by their customer service programs.

Who else is having account management issues due to EA's ****** poor consolidation?

Unless I'm mistaken, all EA/BSN accounts are Origin accounts. Your "EA Master" account email should work just fine in Origin, and you should see some of the information they have stored at profile.ea.com (old system) and ea.com/profile (Origin).

Probably you'll have to keep trying new chat sessions to get somebody who isn't incompetent, or you may need to call in to see if the issue can be resolved.

I used to have three different accounts with EA due to the BSN, EA Online, and the first Dragon Age flash game. Now they're all merged, I never even asked for it to be done.

That said, can you change the e-mail on your Origin account?

I have an edit button for mine. Try changing it to what you use to log into BioWare Social Network.

I would like to suggest that you might want to pull out your e-mail and your name from your previous posts. You never know what could happen. Better safe than sorry.

I have had the same issue. After numerous emails back and forth, EA support said It cannot be done. I had to create a new EA account because they couldn't/wouldn't fix an "payment authorisation failed" error so I couldn't purchase ME3 DDE. Which is annoying as all my Mass Effect 2 DLC is tied to my old account.

If any Bioware employees could sort this out for both of us that would be awesome, but I'm not sure they can.

Make a new account, and ask them to transfer your rights and properties to that new account. It might take a few days but they did it for me. As far as merging accounts, nope. Don't think that's possible.

Ask for a transfer of authorisation to one account rather than a merge of the two.

I was told flat out that they could not transfer all my DLC as I dont have access to the DLC codes(Arrival, Lair of the Shadow Broker etc) on BSN. How did you get it done?

They never really asked me for any code-based authentication or anything. I told them that my e-mail was old and I wanted to transfer to a new account and wanted to keep all of my holdings. It wasn't exactly hassle-free, but it was much easier than I expected it to be. Of course, this was in a world before LulzSec so things may have changed.

I'm all for globalization but outsourcing customer service jobs to Indians who barely speak English isn't the best way to please your customers.
