I think Shepard puts Thane's name on that Alliance memorial on the Normandy as well.

I loved how Mordin and Thane died. The fact that Mordin died a BGH was awesome. It didn't make me sad, it made me smile. Thane went down a total BA, so I was happy about that. My friend who hasn't played was watching that scene, and I told her, "he's the kind of character you want to die a hero, not by some lame disease." Though I guess it was technically the disease that finished him off.

I learned the hard way that I should have told Kelly Chambers to gtfo the damn Citadel. Now when I see Cerberus people, I'm going to savor every gods damn kill.

Not at all. Garrus, on the Normandy, stands in front of the Memorial Plaque with the list of the dead (opposite the Elevator). When you talk to him, he mentions how sad it is that Thane passed away.

For my second playthrough, I'm going to try to get as many names as possible onto that thing, to see what few Companions you'll have left have to say about all those dead people. I only had Thane on mine (though, strangely enough, I don't recall seeing Mordin's name on there, even though he died as well).

Edit: Ok, I guess Kelly died as well, but not sure her death would put her in line for a spot on the Plaque.

Just talked to Garrus at the plaque.  I saw Mordin's name, but he's (strangely) a few names up.  I saw Kaiden on there, but I don't think I saw Kelly up there either.  I'll check again.

Edit:  Looks like Kelly was not considered part of the Normandy crew.  Odd that Mordin and Thane would have been, though.  Maybe that's because Shepard "chose" them as part of the crew?

Did you have Thane on the friendship path or as a romance? Because Garrus didn't mention anything about Thane for me. :/

Just watched this scene last night before going to bed. Very well-written scene, and I'm kind of glad he died like that. The prayer-part was a nice touch.
I was really bummed about losing Mordin :( I love that guy. And then Thane also dies :((((
This game is seriously getting me down. It's a good game, but all these deaths are really making me feel bad.

I haven't even met Kelly, couldn't find her anywhere on the Citadel and I didn't romance her so I guess she won't be showing up. Kaidan is alive in my playthrough, I'll make darn sure he won't be making the plaque.

I didn't get the Garrus scene, probably because after losing Thane, my Shep was in no mood to talk to anyone. She totally raged and ended up shooting Kaidan.  She only talked to those who advanced the plot, she had one goal in mind... to rid the universe of Kai Leng.  I think that Shep took Thane's death badly.  After Kaidan, she let Tali and Samara commit suicide.  Thank God I did just enough MP because I had a high enough score to allow Joker, Garrus, and James to get off the Normandy at the end.  Although now that I think of it, I hope they aren't the only ones on that planet or I just screwed up their chances of repopulation.  Either way, I wanted Shep to die after and she did.  Everyone's happy...well probably not Joker, James and Garrus.  :pinched:

Since the father telling the story to the son at the end was almost certainly on the same planet the Normandy crashed on, just some unknown number of years after the incident, someone must have been able to reproduce, especially since the Mass Effect gates had all been shut down, stranding everyone into isolated pockets of the universe. ;) Remember, there's a lot of nameless crew members on board that ship of both genders. :P

Yep. Bummed me out. Everytime I go to the hospital, there he is...looking out the window. Then once in a while I go into his room on the Normandy to see if anyone is in there....empty. It's pretty frackin' depressing.

Hmm... Garrus never mentioned Thane in my playthrough and I was romancing Thane. It just bothers me that no one mourned him like they did Mordin. I also found it strange that Kaidan, immediately after I had watched Thane die, starting questioning me again, as if I hadn't just lost my lover xD Then came romantic advances by Aller's, Traynors, and Kaidan. It felt like Thane was completely ignored and forgotten after his death.

After just completing this mission, I'm inclined to agree. Garrus stood in front of the memorial and talked about how good it was to have Kaidan back, and how difficult the day was since Shepard almost had to shoot him. No mention of Thane, and no one else seems to have taken notice either. After watching everyone mourn Mordin, I was hoping for something similar, or at least an acknowledgement, especially since Thane was romanced. Not quite sure why they didn't add anything in, but it's certainly a downer.

All of this  - BW has never been good at any kind of grief follow up - Garrus asked me about Ashley while looking at the death board - hello???  My beloved just died, and no one cares?  And I too got advances from everyone while I just watched Thane die.  Brutal.  :crying:

I wish we could have had more time to talk to Thane before his death. It seemed so rushed, and we really only got one chance to talk. Though I will admit the praying for Shepard thing got me. That was a nice little twist. I just wish I could have the option of saving him.

I just had the death scene with Thane last night and it actually gave me nightmares about Kai Leng and couldn't sleep well. I don't think a game has ever made me this sad before. First Mordin and then Thane...my heart broke. Those were my 2 most favorite characters besides Kaidan and they took them away from me :crying: I even started crying for Grunt too but then he came back. I don't know who else dies since I haven't finished the game.

That fight scene was incredible!!! I really thought that during surgery somehow his disease would get better or get cured or something. I really, really had my hopes up that he would survive. Or I thought that we would get a choice in letting him live or not. But at least he died gloriosly and not just from his disease.

He was such a great, well written and badass character so I still don't understand why they had to take him away. Why did they have to give him a disease?
Why Bioware??? Why????

Now what is my poor renegade Shepard supposed to do without her sexy assassin? Go back to Kaidan? But she was deeply in love with Thane.  I don't even want to think about doing that playthrough. It just hurts so much :(

The final scenes with Thane were incredibly epic yet sad. I teared up a little. By far one of the most well written Bioware characters ever.

So far ME3 hasn't moved me emotionally one die. Except for Thane's scene.

Kai Leng is going to pay.

Even if Kai Leng was made to be a recruitable 2000 point War Asset I would kill him everytime.

Yeah... my heart is broken, especially from the lack of response from the other crew members because he was my romance. I mean, even in heacanon reasons can be explained why some wouldn't say anything, but it was just too much after breaking down into tears three seperate times. (1, when he was stabbed after having a mild anxiety attack the whole time I was at C-Sec; 2, during the death scene; 3, THAT LETTER.)

It was just too cruel. :(

Also disappointed that even with the conversation you can have at the hospital and him still calling you Siha, he doesn't count toward the Paramour achievement? That hurts deep. Not cool Bioware, not cool.

I have to admit, it's given me and my Shepard a whole new drive to get things done though. And peace to possibly/probably martyr myself for the galaxy. I still have yet to finish the game but even without spoilers its hard to not see what's coming.

I think that their deaths where really well written and they somehow felt right for them, Mordin and Thane does'nt seem like the characters that die in their sleep from old age. I was also close to crying a few times

Was Thane mourned or was his death mentioned by any of the other players in your game? Someone told me talking to your team after his death brings conversations about it, but all I got was "Oh hey, Kaidan's back!"

I'd like to know this too. I'm not ]quite there yet, but I've heard a couple rants from friends about how Thane is never mentioned again after his death, even if he was romanced.

For me he was, most crew and squad had something to say about it. IDK why you huys didnt hear it. And one of my favorite parts of the entire game was when I killed Kai Leng by stabbing him with the Omnitool and shepard exclaimed "That was for Thane you son of a ****!" That was very satisfying.

Ok I did cry... I just finished this scene and glad my husband was out playing tennis. This and Mordin was really depressing... The game on a whole is really intense. The Thane scene was really emotional to me cause of ME2 I just felt close to him as a character. I know we expected it but I think a little part of me still wanted to shoot up missions with him and cuddle in bed like before. UGH I came on here tonight looking for support :'(

Oh and my little rant... Can Bioware stop trying to lure me into love with Kaiden?!?!? "hey what's up with the assassin," "hey we're cool right," "hey, can things be like before?" "hey, remember how we were an item once?" (not exact quotes...) I mean come on... Stop trying to get me to go for Kaiden. I would rather replay a Garrus romance than fall for Kaiden. The greatest part of this game is getting to know aliens, and romancing aliens. As far as romance goes, I have absolutely no interest in humans in this game. Been there, done that IRL. So, I will not be jumping on the Kaiden train anytime soon!! In hind sight, I should have kept Ash alive and killed Kaiden. Thane for Life.

I almost cried both where among my favorite characters in the series. And kelly should list the second row near the bottom i think. cannt remember exact postion but she there.
