I was doing the Grissom Academy save the students quest, when I ran into Cerberus. As you know, we expected Cerberus, so it was no surprise - until I ran into the damned Engineers. Garrus got pounded out by a turret, and I went to kill it because I could not get enough firepower on the Atlas to kill it quickly. The Atlas would hit my team, weaken our shields, and then the turret(s) would burn us up.
Turrets are wonderful for suppressive fire, and the Atlas is a great big hard hitting tank. From a game mechanic, it makes sense to have both and use them. I like the challenge anyhow. However, it is NOT necessary to have invisible turrets that basically cannot be targetted.
I hope that the Devs are required to play the game, and they they too get jacked up by these turrets with some kind of "Tactical Cloak" feature that renders them immune to damage, invisible - but still able to burn you up. Maybe after they stop laughing, the issue will get fixed.
Invisible turrets?!
