Seriously,  who thought my renegade Shepard should be saluting Hackett?

Oh, I don't know, probably every goddamned person who has a clue on military protocol? Since, you know, Shepard was in fact "reinstated"?

I've seen people complaining about renegade Shepard saluteing Hackett several times now. I really just don't get it. You don't become an N7 marine by blatantly not following protocol.

You didn't have to salute Mikhailovich in ME1

You have the choice of not saluting a superior officer in ME1.

OMG! A cannon that fires mimes!

And if you're a renegade Shep you'd probably space anyone lower rank than you who didn't salute you, so what are you complaining about a little saluting for?

Yeah...sorry to say but i think this is kind off stupid. I don´t get it. Just because you are a Renegade you also have to disobey protocol?

Good lord you people complain to much. The dialog is just fine. I get the option to speak when necessary, it still influences the way my Sheppard talks / acts, and the game is still plenty damned fun and compelling. I swear, the internet is just a place where all the people that are boiling with bitterness and hate come to vent over the most trivial of things.

You don't remember the Great Mime Wars of 1911?

To make people happy, we need to remove all set choices from the game. So what we do is play a MUD instead.

When someone complains on the Bioware forums about one of the games, he/she is automatically branded as a troll, a crybaby or a "nutjob". I don't see any insults in the OP post, but many direct attacks to the forum user that started this topic.

If the new forum rules were something near to the objective of making new, softer and enjoyable ambience, the users that insulted the OP should be banned. But, somewhat, I'm certain that it won't happen.

I've been hearing a lot of this. Wah wah wah! It's not like Mass Effect 1! Wah wah wah! Neither was ME2. It was better. I know everyone is entitled to their opinions and mine is that ME1 was the worst of the three. Crazy ridiculous skills to pour points into, a strafe and fire combat system, and redundant exploration. I have barely scratched the surface of ME3 and I can safely say its my favorite of the series. Through both previous games I didn't have a single battle as intense as the first major one I encountered in ME3, the writing is by far leagues above ME1 and ME2. I can feel the sense of uncertainty in my Shepherd, I laugh out loud at the humorous spots, and while I haven't run into any emotional scenes outside of the one featured in the demo I might even find myself shedding a tear for these characters I've grown to love.

I've been playing Bioware games since the first Baldur's Gate and I can say this, from a personal opinion standpoint, classic RPGs are dead. They're dead because frankly they're not fun anymore. They replace exciting compelling combat with absurd and unnecessary skills, inventory juggling, and incredibly boring dungeon crawling. If all that mentioned above is what makes an RPG for you then there are plenty of B rated developers out there still shelling that kind of drivel out on people. Me however, I prefer this new approach. I'll take fabulous characters and a deep story over another dungeon crawl any day. Oh, and I like to shoot things too.

If you report a user, it will be investigated. There's a red icon by the top right of the post. :wizard:

Then stop setting the option to No Decision in the menu and then saying that the entire game has no dialog in it.

Here's my question: What would not saluting an admiral of the same military you're a part of actually accomplish in terms of practicality?

Maybe it would show that your character does not care for military protocol? An option that has been present throughout the last two games?

The funny thing about RPG elements is that they only come off as unnecessary if you never utilize them. Clearly you don't utilize them, but please don't assume that because you prefer games with fewer choices the rest of us want choice taken out of games.

I, for one, don't find cover shooting exciting at all and much prefer the nail-biting tension you'll experience in something like Brogue, but I don't whine about people liking cover shooting in their games.

And if you like to shoot things and consider the Mass Effect story to be deep, I am sure that Bioware has many more wonderful games to make for you.

ME2 had plenty of autodialogue as well. I think you've been struck by dementia. What's the point of more choice anyway if the choices are completely useless?

By the way, you're supposed to have to RP-option, not the Action-option. It's actually hilarious how many people picked the "wrong one" on accident.

I'm just curious why Bioware thought people would actually enjoy less dialogue and having decisions made for them without us being able to do anything about it? The constant backlash from Dragon Age 2 wasn't enough? Do you people even listen to a word the people that play your games even say? Or is it just bow down and lick EA boot all day long? Seriously, who thought my renegade Shepard should be saluting Hackett? Who thought it was a good idea to take one of the most criticized aspects of Mass Effect 2 and make it standard? Zaeed dialogue? Really? We needed more of that? Who thought it was a good idea to take one of the most criticized aspects of Dragon Age 2 and make it standard? I need to sit there and fight endless waves of npcs during almost every mission?!

Dialogue? We don't need no stinkin dialogue! Don't need no player choices! ONE ENDING FOR YOU! MORE ZAEED! EA told us to make Gears of War!

from what i understand me2 disapointed EA in terms of sales. bioware must have been given a prime directive.
sell more copies of me3 at all costs. so yea they pushed it towards COD/GOW
