 Hi all.

I seem to have one more issue with activation. The launch date checker fires up, seems to be happy and closes, MassEffect3.exe is being launched and crashes after a few seconds.

The log contains info:
Faulty app: MassEffect3.exe, version: 1.1.5427.4
Faulty module: awc.dll, version
Path to fauly app: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe
Path to faulty module: C:\\PROGRA~2\\ORIGIN~1\\MASSEF~1\\binaries\\Win32\\Core\\awc.dll: 3.2.4.6

This is a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit.

And yes, I tried to fix it the same way that was applicable for ME2. No luck.

Don't expect an answer from anybody. Neither Bioware or EA seem to care. Not an uncommon problem, either.

I will not stop calling them until my copy works. This is COMPLETELY unprofessional.

Seems like so many people have this problem yet neither BioWare or EA has done anything about it. This is A. Just bad business and B.Very bad for a companies reputation. Don't get me wrong, I love BioWare games...but this is just nuts. I spent 60 dollars on a product I expect to work.

Same Problem. BEX error involving the awc.dll file. Pretty much the same error message u got and at the same time. If anyone gets it working let me know.

I'm to the point where I'm thinking of re installing windows, but that's just ridiculous.

I used a crack of the masseffect3.exe file to get around the release date checker for now and I can play the game, but once it updates it puts everything back and starts screwing up again. Oh and the crack doesn't let me use DLC so it sucks anyway. I hate having to do sketchy stuff to play a game I paid for...sigh...

I'm getting tired of seeing the loading bar hit 30%...80% BEEP BEEP... BEEP dead...sigh...

Bump to keep this near top.

The error report here probably gives them more to work with than most of the other threads...you know if bioware is even paying attention

I will not confirm or deny if i've actually used a crack, but the above poster is right, it fixes the issue. You just can't use your DLC or play online. At very least it lets you get a few hours in and try out the game.

I had to do the same thing to play DA2, but I really hate doing it. With DA2 I brought it to a guy from biowares attention that a certain crack fixed the issue so that they could notice were the arises. Bioware just needs to crack their own game.

hi all. i am having the same problem. has anyone tried this to fix it? http://bit.ly/ynHdrc (look for failed awc.dll)
i am giving it a go right now, but am not 100% on it because i have origin and me3 on different drives and for some reason i think that is part of my problem...

and origin support? wahahahaha.
i was told to "reset the clock in the BIOS!"
this was after:
running dxdiag, uninstalling and reinstalling adobe air, doing a clean install of my graphics drivers... each time uninstalling and reinstalling origin and the game. i have a f***ing hard copy, and i have to download the game? does that make any sense at all?

origin = yuck. i stayed away from da2 because of this crap. thankfully amalur was on steam! i am never buying anything origin only again.

My god, am I living thru your eyes?  Or are you living thru mine?  Seriously the beeping is haunting my dreams...

How'd you crack it?  I mean **** it if EA/Bioware offer no help or solution (their CS reps are not only useless, but rude, he gave me a link to the standard crap then hung up on me), then I might as well try and make it work through other means.

I've never pirated in my life, but it's not really pirating if I actually paid for it right?

didn't work. even went so far as to rearrange my entire file system to try and get everything all on one drive as the fantastic tech support suggested. no dice.

i want a refund.
$80 and i haven't played one minute of this thing, but have spent 12 hours troubleshooting it?!?!

also, found way to install from the disc, it doesn't matter.
this is definitely a problem with the release check b.s.
and does anyone else feel like the tech support people are doing whatever they can to get you to either 1) restart origin or 2) your computer so that they don't have to talk to you?
just all around awesome.

and now i was just told that i need to do a clean boot of windows, systematically enabling small groups of services in order to find out what the problem is! no problem! there can't be more than 5 or 6 services needed to run windows, right? wtf origin. was also told that release date check was "absolutely necessary."

at first i was angry at all the 0-1 star review on metacritic. how dare they prejudge! but now...

so, i also tried the clean boot that origin live 'help' recommended. didn't take long because even with everything disabled (had to disable av beforehand) it gave the exact same error.

can't wait to see what they suggest next!

this seems like it should be a relativly easy fix if they were willing to try to do something about.
