i've already contended with a buggy origin install
now its just stuck in "checking downloadable content"
firewall is already off...
i'm using CE, with all the pre-order bonus content
i can connect to EA server, but it is just stuck in checking downloadble content...
i am using an i72600k, 16gb ram, 2 x SSD in RAID 0, GTX580SLI -- more than enough system specs/resources
any ideas? appreciate the help..
checking downloadable content

I had it error out on my check saying I did not own it. But it would check for a really long time. I corrected this with a repair of the DLC install via origin

I was talking about doing the repair on the DLC. Try that if that does not work and you are still having everything run slow with the game even the opening splash screen something else may be wrong. I would try a full delete and reinstall. At that point you are looking at doing a ticket to EA sorry
When I did the repair on my DLC pack it was the full 500mb file again

If game is running slow also check to make sure you have the most up-to date video drivers. I hear some of the new ones give a good boost in performance for other games, so no reason to think it could not help with this.

That's not -that- bad to be honest... You should have seen Brink on release day, damn near unplayable for over half the people that bought it (and pretty much all the ATi users out there).
Besides, always make sure your drivers are up to date
Glad you got it to work though

btw, for some reason the game does not like gigabyte's easyboost or overclocked cards for that matter... i'm just running stock GTX580 speeds... not that its important because graphically the game is not intensive...
mass effect 2 was not this way during launch day...
i skipped the whole dao2 thing, but i can not for the life of me skip me3 - even if i had to install origin to get it....
