I have rewritten the heretics, saved Tali from being exiled, resolved the Legion/Tali conflict, done the 2 sidequests on the Quarian homeworld. I have the option, but I didnt have enough Paragon.

I would like to know how much Paragon exactly would I need to resolve the conflict? At this moment my paragon bar (reloaded to a prior save and did some questing on the Citadel) is just into the 5th bar. Is this enough? Will this prevent Tali's suicide as well?

Would like to know beforehand so I dont end up constantly redoing the Reaper Base mission<_<

I would like to know this as well. If I have enough bars AFTER rewriting the geth in ME2, I want to know if I can still save both, negotiate peace.

I forgot to mention that when I first attempted peace, I had just about entered the 4th bar

I was able to to do that with a lvl 30 ME2 import with all the reputation boosting perks, not sure how many bars I actually had (and I'm not going to sift through dozens of saves labelled "Normandy" because Bioware still hasn't noticed that it might be a helpful to know the Normandy's location when picking a save file to load)

I don't think you can prevent her suicide.

As for morality, peace is clearly favourable. If that's not an option, the geths' "humanity" / inherent right to live/ sentience/whatever is speculative whilst the quarians' "humanity"/etc isn't so I think that saving the quarians is the best option.

Strategically, the quarians are a total liability (deciding that now, when we have definitive proof that the Reapers are invading en masse, is a good time to start another war is dumb, and they tried very hard to kill Shep) and I'd rather have reliable geth working for me to be honest.

Yes the geth are in the right in this case, but considering how Tali and Legion are my 2 favorite chars in the series, I wanna help both races. Kinda sucks Tali dies anyways if what you say is true... guess im using Liara/Javik again rather then my classic ME1 team of Liara/Tali

Tali doesn't die if you manage to get peace.

Yep I saved Tali, you just have to do peace between them.
While Legion upload you must do the paragon dialogue and interrupt.
Otherwise...

You dont need paragon, renegade can resolve the situation too

I have little to no Renegade, so that's not an option :P

Does Tali still kill herself if you side with the Quarians to wipe out the geth? (Don't see why she would at that point, but some of the previous posts have me worried.)

My 3rd attempt total was successful. It requires 5+ bars of Paragon or Renegade. To the above poster, tobito113, you were correct, despite having no Renegade, I still had the option. Chose Paragon anyways

The options are based on Reputation now

It requires you to be in the final "bubble" of reputation.

Legion dies no matter what you do. The circumstances for his death vary, however.

Tali dies if you side with legion w/o using the charm or intimidate options. Legion dies uploading the reaper code to the Geth fleet.

Tali lives if you side with her w/o using the charm or intimidate options. An angered Legion reacts violently, and dies when Tali stabs him. They spend Legion's final moments as friends.

Tali lives if you use the charm/intimidate options. Legion dies in order to upload the reaper code. The Geth greet you as friends and allies after this point. They also help the Quarians settle back in on their planet, and lend you their fleet for the final battle.

Of course in retrospect I can't seem to give a crap because no matter what I do, I can't "win" the final fight for Shepard and co.

Son of a ****. I chose to upload and i can't tell if i didnt hit the L1 / paragon option in time to save Tali or it doesn't matter and she dies either way. Ive been sitting here for like 10 minutes trying to decide whether to go back and repeat the last 30 minutes since last save or just live with my choices :(

I wanted to make peace by Legion got up to 40 percent upload and I didn't get paragon choice with L1. Did I tell him to stop and kill him too soon? Like does the prompt go after where it stops at 40 percent when Quarian is begging for her life? Also in my playthrough... I haven't even found Tali yet .... the lady who was there with me and Legion was one of the Quarian leaders. Did Tali somehow die? I kept her alive through ME2!

The L1 prompt was after Legion dies and uploads the code, then Tali takes off her mask and falls backwards, then it prompts as this happening.

Most likely you didn't have the proper pre-requisites in your game for the options to exist.  The charm/intimidate options have a very small window of opportunity to appear.  You must have had Legion in ME2, done its loyalty mission, preferably destroyed the heretics (although not absolutely necessary) in ME2, solved the Tali/Legion fight using the charm/intimidate option in ME2, etc.  It's a point system, and each of those actions are worth a certain number of points.  There's a certain thresholde you need to cross point-wise before the options appear.  There are point value lists and tutorials on what to do all over, just google "geth quarian peace" or something of the like.

So I was supposed to let Legion finish upload to make peace!? If so I'm pissed off! It was misleading because the Quarian leader kept screaming for Legion to stop. I assumed that if it got to 100 percent I'd be fu**ed. Where the hell is Tali now? Is she somehow dead? I sided with the Quarians and she isn't around...

Hexx. I accumulated the 5-7 points needed to make peace yet it still didn't work for me. I know one thing that may be causing the problem is... on ME2 I got Legion so close to end of game that him and Tali never had their conflict. Maybe that's what broke my game?

Tali and Legion have their conflict in ME2 after Legion's loyalty mission.

This is what i want, but cant get the desired outcome. I either lose them both, or Tali stabs Legion in the back and i shoot him... HELP lol
