I've only just started the game, and gotten to the first point where you can explore your new and improved Normandy. Cortez, in your first conversation with him, makes a point of saying something along the lines of 'What was Cerberus thinking putting the armory on deck two'.

Am I the only one that thought having a deck two armory was fine, even a good idea? Considering that in half of the missions in ME2 you left the ship through the airlock on deck two rather than the shuttle, and putting it right next to the elevator made it plenty convenient for the shuttlebay. Before, it was pretty much halfway between the two exit/entrances to the ship, but now it's just about as far as you can get from the airlock.

I know I'm nitpicking but honestly I preferred Cerberus' version of the SR2, in terms of internal spaces, and was kind of miffed at Cortez's dig at my ship.

The shuttle bay makes slightly more sense to me. However, this Normandy is going to be boned if it ever gets boarded. I can just imagine everyone having to go down 3 decks to get their rifles.

There are rifles at the security checkpoint to get into the War Room and I'm sure that there are weapons concealed behind panels in the wall that can be removed in an instant. Also most of the crew is probably carrying a sidearm. Given the current threat level and situation it would be an unquestionably smart safety measure. AND lol. If the ship ever were boarded EDI could just erect internal kinetic barriers and have a security team come in and deal with the intruders.

Half of the missions you left through the airlock?

The only times I can think of that you left through the airlock was when the Normandy was docked. So, the Citadel, Illium, and Omega. Anywhere else, you took the shuttle.

While the location of the armoury makes more sense in ME3 from a realistic perspective, its location in ME2 was more convenient (and imo, better) for a game. I prefer the Cerberus SR-2 by a mile, one of the biggest reasons being that it didn't have such ****ty lighting.
