This review is... well...
Reviewer obviously didn't explore as a true RPG'er would and secondly, If ME3 has some of the best gfx he ever seen on PC there's either something very wrong with my rig or he played nothing else than Zelda since 1984. Sorry dude, but you should be ashamed of yourself calling you a hardcore RPG fan :P

I logged 15 hours so far in the PC version and i'm probably not half way yet. You can more or less do everything you could in ME2++. Some good changes has been done imho and i'm loving the story so far. Some pretty intense, epic battles and the best is yet to come probably :)

That's a common misconception. A "true" RPGer only does things that the character would do. Being a completionist/explorer completely different thing.

The OPs game description is an indication of that.

Just a little nit pick. Zelda came out in '86.

If it took you 13 hours to beat the game.....You clearly miss a mountain of stuff. You skipped a huge chunk of side quest.

Best story, yes. Best characters, maybe. Best game to play....oh no way in Hades Gamma. The story and characters overcame a mountain of lousy game elements - crummy skills, the MAKO, uninspiring UCW's, re-use of assets that would make DA2 blush, combat that was awful to be generous and an inventory system legndary in how bad it was.

The combat and inventory was great, no idea what the whining about that was tbh.

Probably down to personal taste.

I can tell you havent read all 4 pages, no I did not go around looking for side quests. But I did every quest that the game gave me. And I would hardly call them quests, they are FPS levels.

If you dont talk to anyone or even stop and listen what people are saying, I guess you dont get many side quests. Just waiting for the game to give you something to do? You are prolly one of those players who need hand holding through a game because you cannot search, explore and find out stuff for yourself?

Yeah, Insanity does make fights more lengthy and a hell more intense and challenging. But if you want to RP a real hero that is the way to do it. Pain heals, chick dig scars and glory lasts forever. There is no glory in lower difficulties! But the worst thing you can do is to rush through a wonderful game like this.

Did you even find your Shepard VI to talk to? I would bet you did not.

No i did not go and look for every single side quest. But every time if the game gave me something to do I did it. Like I said the game plays very much like a FPS and not a RPG. Every time I went to a new planet, it felt like a new FPS level and not a rpg map.

You can not explore anything the game leads you on a pre detrim path and you get waves of mobs until the time limit is reached. Just like a FPS!

Now if you want to talk about real RPG's. I put over 800hrs into Oblivion, I dont think may people can say that.

You cannot explore? Really? I gave up....you did not played the same game as i did.

Did you even comprehend what I said? Sure you can pick what planet you want to go to. But after that its a set path, you ONLY can go one way. Every once and a blue moon the game tosses in a room for you to explore. But after that its a set path with waves of mobs until the time limit is reached. Just like COD!

Here's a hint....Go to the citideal...Take to people...Got to the human embacy, Go to your desk on in the spectre office. Talk to the people who email you... Talk to your crew when they are on the citidel...
It's clear that you skipped chunks.

Wow....If you did the same thing with Bulder's gate 2, that game would be massively short. The depth with are are based on side quest. Complaining about it not  feel like an rpg and not doing the side quest is a contradiction.
Dude, you missed chunks of story related stuff.

No, you didn't....Playing a game like an rpg doesn't mean just doing what given to you. It incoulds exploring....which you clearly did not do. Every BW game has side quest that you have to explore to find...Why would ME3 be different?

Can we throw that "FPS"-word out of these forums? I know it's a nitpick and all, but ME3 CLEARLY resembles a THIRD person shooter.

Ha, Ironicly none of the side mission are tied to achevments....Listen, I've played all BW games....All of them have side quest that you have to explore to find. RPG do not equal just doing what's given to you.

Read all 4 pages, I would hardly call ME3's quests true quests. They are more like new FPS levels and in my view they are pointless to play. Give me true RPG quests and I will complete them. On my last Oblivion save I have 320hrs played and I completed every quest in the game.

P.S. Throwing waves and waves of mobs at a player and funneling them down a pre detrime path is hardly questing.

So, this may be a bit off topic, but something you said caught my attention..

You said the planets are like FPS levels, set path, etc etc. You also mentioned there is a time limit to complete them?

I haven't bought the game yet, but if this is the case that is one more reason not to. Ugh.

I'm also an old timer gamer and like to take my time and enjoy the scenery.

This whole 'fps level' trend in rpgs is not for me. I don't want to 'beat a level', I want to explore and visit a planet. And I don't want to be rushed, dagnabbit! :)

love it when people throw around words like "true" and "fan" in the same sentence. I always start to wonder where these "true fans" are hiding because, apparently, I'm no true fan of anything regardless of how much I love a game.

When I say time limit the mobs come to you in waves until the time limit is reached. And you can not advance until you kill every last mob in the area.

Sorry, but you lost me at "I would rate the graphics at a 10, the game has some of the best graphics that I have ever seen on PC."

I love ME3, maybe the best one yet. However, I will stop at saying it has the best graphics ever seen on PC. This is just not true, an honest reviewer would recognize that.

Still, you can hardly call yourself 'hardcore' when you only put so little time your playthrough. Real 'hardcore' people set out to explore everything...You might've been 'hardcore' in Oblivion, but not in ME 3.
