This is repeatable, at least for my copy:

Behind Joker, in the cockpit, there's two red and white labels/stickers on the floor. If you stand on the one on the starboard side, you can't move off of it - you're just stuck until you load a game in which you are not standing on that spot.

This is a carry-over object/clipping problem from ME2. Shep - and even sometimes crewmates - could get "stuck" on a set of pixels (often a piece of furniture), and you would then have to reload an earlier save. I had to replay Archangel in ME2 several times due to this.

I'm not surprised that this is happening again. This would have had to be fixed before launch, since a patch would have to re-texture GBs of data to fix. So, like with ME2, learn to abuse F5 (I remap to F6) fairly often.

I use both numbered saves and quicksave fairly frequently, so it didn't cause me any serious setbacks. I simply posted it because I felt it should be noted.

Oh, god, thanks for at least letting me know what I kept getting hung up on. Now I know where not to step when I'm in the cockpit.

So, any fix for this beyond just ... reloading?

Yeah, confirmed: when in the cockpit, DON'T STAND on the spot where there's a missing panel behind joker. You'll get stuck, guaranteed.

Happened to me too but I think its when you talk to Joker which triggers this anomaly, can't really say for sure.

HAHAHHA i just got out! I made a bad choice >< had to reload.. only save before the mission was the one where Iw as stuck in the cockpit...

Anyways FYI I kept reloading the save.. while on the loading screen i was spamming all my move buttons... w/a/s/d.... after 3rd time it worked.. I speculate there is a split second right as the game loads where u can move shepard before she/he gets stuck again.. GL

Just a double (triple) confirm, it's not just the panel on the right, you can get stuck on the panel on the left also. You also don't need to talk to Joker to make it happen, just tap W so you edge right over the red and white labels on the ground. You'll either slide into the stuck position, or slide all the way over the missing panel (if you're not lined up correctly). Happens to me all the time when I turn to talk to "Joker's copilot".

So far I could always fix this through Quicksaving and then Quickloading. Now I cant seem to fix it that way and my last Autosave when I entered Normandy goes back 4 hours -_-

I got stuck on the Normandy loading area on the Citadel. Between the two female Alliance officers and the pacing Keeper. The Keeper would not move and I had no where to go.

After the game royally corrupting an autosave and getting stuck I am going to be F5'ing a lot more now.

Confirming that you CAN wriggle your way off the sticker behind Joker. I mashed the W, S, and D keys while talking to Joker, and every time he said "Commander" I was able to move a teeny bit to the right. After almost 60 seconds of doing this I was free.

i might try this ... this is like the 5th time i've done this when talking to EDI, and not watching the floor.

sigh.

i was hoping the save/load would give me half a second to step off, like last time, but i think, i'm well and truly in / on the vertex that needs fixing.

Ive had this happen once, luckly I had saved just before getting stuck.

Its wierd never really read these forums while playing ME2. After comming here and replaying the game, loads of glitches appeared, lol. I had played ME2 through about 9 or 10 times and never came across one, ;) until I came here.

Thankfully, only two glitches so far in ME3, this and shader problems.

"Thankfully, only two glitches so far in ME3, this and shader problems."

And the 'spacebar does everything' glitch. No way that can be a design choice. It's far too infuriating.

"I want you to sprint back away from the flanking and rushing enemies, Shepard. NOT stick to that wall in plain view of their rifles!"

"I want you to revive your multiplayer partner, soldier. NOT stick to the cover right next to him!"

lol, I love the Space Bar Dance.

Roll to the left...
Roll to the right...
Stick to the wall a lichen on a rock...
...Topped off with a barrel-roll-vault over some shrubbery

As for the cockpit issue, I find if I just stand there I start to 'jitter' and eventually 'jitter' off of the humongous dust ball that, I Commander Shepard, saviour of the galaxy TWICE OVER, cannot step over.<_<

You can also get out of this spot using the Gibs MassEffect3 save editor.

http://svn.gib.me/builds/masseffect3/

On the Raw tab at the top there is a header for Position. Change the XYZ on the right side of the window to;

X: 2.310025
Y: 4051.911
Z: 81.4108

This will put you on the same level of the ship at the entrance to the elevator. Much easier than continual quicksaves and quickloads or wriggling for half hour.

Worked perfectly, and save me from losing 7 hours on a reload. Thanks!! :wizard:

I got stuck and managed to free myself with several rotations and panicked run presses.

That's what I do. I have only had to restart once because of it but I have been hung up on it a few times.
