On my first playthrough as a human noble warrior, my endgame conisisted of Leliana, Wynn and Alistair. I had Wynn as an Arcane Warrior, but waited too late to advance her to such, to really take advantage of the benfits, so merely got a taste of what it was and how to play it.

I just started a new game as a mage, and was interested in going this route. I plan on focusing more on being in the thick of battle, as Morrigan will be my main offensive/CC/AoE mage. I was thinking of having Zevran for a rogue, and maybe Sten/Shale for the warrior, however I don't want them to have all the fun.

Browsing through the topics the last couple of days, I haven't seen many threads related to these specializations together, as the general consensus is that Blood Mage and Arcane Warrior are the best combo. However, I'm not looking for the best combo, I just want to get the most out of my mage for what i'm specializing.

With all that being said, exactly how should I spend my points? Obviously Willpower and Magic will be number one, but should I focus on Constitution over Dexterity, vice versa, or equal them out?

As far as offensive magic, should I just focus on buffs to improve my character in physical combat, hexes to cripple the opponents, or will I be safe taking a few offensive spells?

try to give a look at my guide, just posted a few builds

btw AW+BM imo is not the best combo if you dont exploit shimmering shield bug and even there i think is kinda on par with BM+SH... it also mostly depends by what you want to play and by your build

and you want to play AW but what kind? you want to use sword or just a more defensive oriented mage?

if you want to play mostly an "uber war" then selfbuffs and some minor CC is prob the best route, you dont need much const if you dont go bm as you will not get much dmg and anyway you will have a tank... (and remember that you will still need an healer)

note that if this is the plan you can pretty much forget to go good dmg with spells as you will need to stack hexes, to have equip +% to elemental dmg (staffs, gloves) and generally to have a low fatigue, not to say AW also have to put his weapons away to cast some spells (cone of cold for example)

if instead you just want a more defensive mage (front line mage) you have more options at your disposal and you can work ok in most roles if you pay attention to fatigue and focus on 1 main elemental dmg... (of course if needed you can always put the AW buff and go with sword, even if generally is less effective than casting spells)

I just started an Arcane Warrior, and I'm having a blast. I'm not level 14 yet, so I don't have a second specialization. I'm still deciding between Spirit Healer and Blood Mage.

Willpower and Magic are both important, but I recommend spending some points on Dex. I was missing like crazy early on (couldn't even hit orange enemies when I was level 8). Then I put a few points in Constitution. But really, I cheesed things by doing the Fade right away to get all the free attribute points. Then I headed to Orzamar to get the Ring of the Assembly (or whatever) for +2 to all attributes.

Death Magic is a great buff to have. It makes my character nearly invincible in large battles.

I just got my arcane warrior up to level 14 and took the spirit healer path. I want to get a good mace and it will seem like a cleric.

Arcane Warrior + Blood Mage -- once you get all their abilities at least -- is too powerful and kind of ruins the game. I have to admit it's pretty fun though.
