Anyone disappointed?

I've yet to finish it, but I've only found minor flaws in the game so far, and unless the other 2 thirds of the game are absolutly horrible, I really dont see the "river of horrible reviews" being anything other then venting of frustration of minor details, aka the "Skyrim syndrome".
Still, full impression will have to wait until im finished, but I had skyhigh expectations of this game, and so far I am not dissapointed.

I won't say it is a bad game yet, but I am finding lots of things to be disappointed about.
I agree with that statment. Things both big and small are adding up though.
By the way, Am I just mistaken or didn't they mention doing another one of thoes interactive comics to build your "New" Shepard?

So everything else was perfect? One button does all? Graphics? Animations? Auto dialogue?

But I have to say the way the individual stories pick up elements from the previous games is working for spades with me. For example, I spared Wrex on Virmire and handled Mordin's loyalty mission a certain way in ME2 that resulted in a fantastically executed mission concerning the genophage that was fun to play but I kept going because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next, to the plot and the characters. At its conclusion I felt both extremely happy at the outcome and at the same time sad for spoilery reasons I can't divulge, but it proved to me that ME3 is a worthy successor.
I'd say to anybody feeling a little "meh" at the start to give it a few more chapters before selling their disk. There's a lot of good fun to be had in this game.

Mass Effect 1 and also this because its like my favorite place in the game wait and also this
However that doesn't mean it's not really good, the game can be really moody even without the sci-fi electronic goodness. It's going to be hard to forget the early scene that had this music in it:

Yeah but you see, I most probably handled Mordin's loyalty mission in a different way in ME2, and it ended making this mission you talk about an absolute garbage that basically spit in my face "don't care what you did before, welcome to the railroading and the rewriting of your Shepard into someone else saying the polar opposite of what yours would".ElectricZ wrote...

Despite many moments where I have quite a bit of fun, I have a very hard time swallowing the dumbing down of the dialogues and the awful overall plot.

First couple hours were a bit shaky, but since then it's been fantastic.
Agreed. Just beat the game myself. I'm happy. There were a few visual elements I was disappointed with, mostly just Shep pulling a gun through his armor rather than over his back, and some of the textures need a serious upgrade... particularly the blood textures. Some of the Reaper textures in the early levels as well.
SLIGHTLY SPOILERISH KINDA SORTA
Disappointed in the Reaper-to-Shep conversation this time around though, but it's a very minor gripe. Harbinger should've been more prominent, especially after ME2.
END SLIGHTLY SPOILERISH STUFF
But overall, the game was a blast. Not everything was perfect, but it was a whole lot more coherent than ME2 originally seemed to me. BioWare done good with this one.

One thing I'm seeing occassionally is the notion the game was rushed or the dev team didn't try as hard somehow. It's disheartening to see that because I can tell you the development team worked *incredibly* hard on the game, including a ton of personal sacrifice (hours worked, holidays skipped etc). This was a labor of love for the team and we're all very proud of what has been accomplished. There are bugs that got through (face import. we know) but they are being investigated for fixing etc.
i think ME3 is great, and i chose to read up on the endings before getting there myself. the ending for such an epic trilogy couldnt have been black and white, or predictable, or even necessarily satisfying. i have to judge for myself, but from what i hear, it all sounds so trippy! too bad so many are complaining.
not trying to be a fanboy or anything, but there are enough combat improvements and epic missions in ME3 that i'll be playing through the game at least a few more times, which makes it worth the money.

But I do not understand why people are so negative about it. It really is the best from ME1 and 2 combined.

But the ending(s) are terrible and I have no desire to go back and do a NG+ or start any other of my 8 saves from ME2

"The Reapers' goal was to find a way to stop the spread of Dark
Energy which would eventually consume everything. That's why there was
so much foreshadowing about Dark Energy in ME2.
The Reapers as a whole were 'nations' of people who had fused
together in the most horrific way possible to help find a way to stop
the spread of the Dark Energy. The real reason for the Human Reaper was
supposed to be the Reapers saving throw because they had run out of
time. Humanity in Mass Effect is supposedly unique because of it's
genetic diversity and represented the universe's best chance at stopping
Dark Energy's spread.
The original final choice was going to be "Kill the Reapers and put
your faith in the races of the galaxy in finding another way to stop the
spread with what little time is left" or "Sacrifice humanity, allowing
them to be horrifically processed in hopes that the end result will
justify the means."
Then they changed it to it's current state... I would have prefered the first ending

funny I use 10 or so buttons almost constantly and have tons of dialogue options and graphics are fine.

The animation of female Shepard is awful, the inability to holster my gun so I keep shoving it in allies faces, too many actions mapped to the space bar are all irritants as well.
It's still a pretty good game and I'll see it through but like I said I've lost connection with a character I've spent over 70 hours playing across 2 games because she no longer looks the same and far too often I have no control over what she says.

4 hours later: frickin awesome. Love the inventory system, the dialogue is sensical: I understand the point of not having a indepth conversation out of context (let's discuss your cultural background and personal motivations whilst in the midst of an intense mission) and the in-your-face tearjerker stuff seems to have abated; letting actual emotional involvement do it's thing. Looking forward to playing more
Edit: The weapons are a joy to play with. The sound and physics actually give the impression you've actually launched something with as much mechanised vehemence as possible. Brilliant! Though what the **** is with EDI. Vega I can get, he's quite a fun character that adds an interesting perspective of an alliance soldier who was at the other side of the human military and how your actions effected him, but EDI and her digitised cameltoe...nah. I'm not feeling it. Some femsheps gonna be maaaaayaad.

i have no doubt everyone worked hard and put in a lot of effort, but how did something as huge as me1 shepards not importing through to me3 get missed and put into the final product? I appreciate your repsonse on these forums though!
