The popular poll (as shown in my sig) is up to 8500+ votes.

Releasing a better ending for even just 5 bucks would make them like 40 grand or something.

One thing I'm seeing occassionally is the notion the game was rushed or the dev team didn't try as hard somehow. It's disheartening to see that because I can tell you the development team worked *incredibly* hard on the game, including a ton of personal sacrifice (hours worked, holidays skipped etc). This was a labor of love for the team and we're all very proud of what has been accomplished. There are bugs that got through (face import. we know :( ) but they are being investigated for fixing etc.

The endings Jarret, the endings.

What he said, Jarret. Everyone is complaining about the endngs, not the rest of the game, which is amazing. The endings however are total crap and feel rushed.

Loved 99.5% of the game it even had a few moments that I almost wanted to shed man tears but fought back. The ending was partially what I expected and wanted it to be and then it kind of fell flat but I won't condemn the 99.5% of it I enjoyed because of this. I have played numerous games with far worse endings lol.

The combat was awesome and I ended up liking the new characters quite a bit. The game was more cinematic overall, which was really cool and there was quite a bit of dialogue, you can tell the team put a great deal of effort into the game and any misgivings are based around the execution and decisions made by the developers, not the deal of effort they put forward.

That said, only one HUB world(the Citadel) which was smaller than the Citadel in ME1 is pretty crappy' most of all it's the ending that blindsided me and has made me feel incredibly dissapointed, almost to the point that I wish I never discovered the Mass Effect franchise.

The thing about the Citadel in ME3 vs ME1 is that it actually does have more stuff.  What made the ME1 Citadel feel big (okay, it actaully was big), was mostly just open space, and you'd spend quite a lot of time just running from one part to another.  The ME3 Citadel is a lot less square footage, yes, but it also has as much as (or maybe more) stuff in it as ME1, it's just condensed.

Yeah, if polls mean anything 97% of people are disatisfied according to the two biggest polls (both of them). And while people are more likely to comment when they are dissatisfied, 97% is a big number. I would be surprised if 15% of people liked or were fine with the endings. And certainly less than that if they played all three games like myself and so many others.

Some aspects dissapointed me (Endings, choices) while others exceeded (Banter, music, small things). Overall, it has it's faults, but it's a fitting game for the series.

These endings are just frankly Bad. Poorly written and confusing. The worst part though? ALL the choices from all 3 games? They just dont matter. PICK RED GREEN OR BLUE. Theres your ending. Im a huge Bioware fanboy games books even shirts etc. After this if its not fixed either DLC or patch. Im done with them. These endings indicate that they just don’t care. If they fix them THEN i’ll come back otherwise bye bye

Jarett,

I am one of the many with a node in my throat as i finished the game; I had such high expectations for this volume so i really took my time to beat the sh** out of it, hunting evry possible areas or planets, finishing all possible side quests, and even raising that damn readyness rating by failing hard but long enough in the multiplayer...

One desire pushed me thru all this: saving the galaxy to get that warm and fuzzy feeling of closure and that long awaited conclusion with all the characters i've grown to love and "fight for" throughout the trilogy.
Even though i enjoyed every minutes of it (although i still choked regarding the romances) i felt robbed at the end,
at first i figured maybe another end choice would be more satisfaying but no... no matter what I did, I still felt like i was shafting my shep and the whole galaxy.

So when you say this game was made with love, I for one felt it since the journey was great, but your overall efforts have been completely sabotaged by really questionable decisions that in my opinion were made to either spite the fans or by someone in a bubble completely unaware of what made this franchise appeal to so many over the years.

I am going to go on a limb here and position myself as a representative sample of what the players expected from this game and say that what really caught me was:

1- The Hero/Anti-Hero persona of Shepard who can save the world either by uniting all or with a more "the end justifies the means" approach
2- The compeling companions relationships (probably the greatest trademark of Bioware)
3- The epic storytelling

These 3 elements are the reasons the games were always so hot; and with that last chapter even if the adventure is nice, you can't help but feel robbed of these 3 key elements. I didn't feel heroic at the end, i felt that if i told evry single character to screw off since the beginning or simply ignored them all together the main arc wouldn't have been affected, and as far as the story goes the end feels rushed indeed (like the writers just wanted to get it over with at some point). I almost regret ever discovering Mass Effect just to save me from such disapointement after such an incredible journey.

So yeah obviously some people who worked in this game did pour their heart out, and that's what's saved the game from being a complete failure if you ask me, but it's also obvious that others were really not that implicated and if you want to point fingers simply look into the ones responsible for the ending and for shaving all the depth of the romances (old or new).

Now many people speculate that this overall bitterness you sprayed us with in this last chapter was a marketing move to promote the sale of future DLCs (i'm not even going to go into the whole from ashes incident); if it is then great job!
I for one will totally buy an alternate ending DLC; but you would have lost in the process my trust and respect for your company, and if that's the case i will seriously take my time before jumping on your next titles from now on.

I had lunch with my brother Saturday and we talked about ME3. I don't own it as I'm still waiting on an ME2-Ultimate edition so I can play with all the DLC (without buying them piece-meal). But I have hung out at the forums a lot and have spoiled myself silly. Note I spoiled myself intentionally since after DA2 I will never buy a BioWare game without a lot of player input first.

Anyway we started talking about it and I asked him about the endings. Come to find out he is only 10 hours into the game, but he said he reading the strategy guide and is working on getting the good ending. I just kind of looked at him and said "good ending?". He said, "yeah, the one were Shepard lives and everyone else.". I just kind of looked at him again and said "the guide says there is a happy ending like that?" Well he went on to tell me how he is collecting assets (without playing the MP) and that he's shooting for 5K so he can have the happy ending.

I really wasn't sure what to say at that point. Do I tell him everything I've read and seen on Youtube or do I let him go on as is and be hit with a huge disappointment.

Well I told him that I had read that a lot of people didn't like the ending but to go ahead and finish it the best way he can because I really want his fresh input on the matter as soon as he is finished. He said he would so now I'm just really curious as to how he'll take it.

Not in the game itself. The story up until the end was top notch.

The end made you want to pull your hair out like playing on Insanity the first time did. For entirely different reasons of course. Insanity makes you lose your hair because it does not forgive halfassedness or blinking. Most of you already know why the ending makes you want to pull out your hair.

Jarret, If I had over 20000 people telling me my product sucks, I would not lie like Bioware was doing with the first day DLC, and make damn sure that I fix the problem. If I had a company I don't wanna lose 20000 people! If Bioware is willing to let 20000 players down then I hope she will fall flat on her face in the next 5 years and go bankrupt! If you make promises then make sure to live up to them and don't make crap games that don't even come close to the PR stunts and what you told us that would be in the game! I loved your games Bioware, Hell I even get that rip off first day DLC for ME3 and was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. But when I see that even the basic stuff that you promised is not uphold in the game, then you are messing with your fans, fans that are in the end your customers. Your hotshot Casey Hudson told us that our choices made in ME1 and ME2 would reflect in ME3, but after the first 5 minutes I see that it was a cold lie,Anderson was an admiral in ME3 while in ME1 and ME2 I had chosen to put him on the council... WTF is that??, Don't turn your back on us, because if you do that, then you don't deserve to be a game developer and are just like EA, a bunch of mindless husk trying to rip off every loyale fan. Take a lesson from CD projekt at least they know how to interact with their community and fans. And telling us you people worked on the game and blabla... ofcourse you did it's your job...

I love the game, and to my surprise, the stripped dialogue wheel doesn't bother me so much in my second playthrough. Like most everyone here already said, the ending is ****, and from what I've gathered, it seems we won't be getting DLC for it, either. So much for listening to the fans.

This sounds exactly like something I would say. Game seems just as good as (if not better than) either one of the first two ME games. The added element of having to "dodge" Reapers while exploring galaxies was a clever addition to the game play, in my humble opinion.

The game still feels like its missing something, I just finished ME2 again, and after starting the new game in ME3, i just don't feel it matches up to ME2.  It could be that my shepard just looks weird because i had to recreate her (STILL WAITING FOR PATCH) so once i get my original shepard, i'll restart and see how it feels.

yes I am disappointed. They should have called it ME2.5 instead of ME3. This new game really is an expansion pack for ME2. All they did was remove most of the complexity from the ME1 & ME2 and put it even more on rails than before. "Open World RPG" is a meaningless concept here. The mistake they made was in thinking the original ME was a shooter, which it was not. Congrats Bioware, you have successfully set COD in space... Bravo! Expanding on the elements that made ME successful would have been a better trajectory for the franchise in my humble opinion.

Well I'm disappointed. Things I don't like:

- less side missions

- only ONE city where you can walk around. In ME2 you had Tuchanka, Omega, Citadel, Illium. Now it's just the citadel.

- receycling of the multiplayer maps and making them side missions and these are the actual missions where you can play and shoot stuff

- way too much side missions are "text based". You get a job, you fly to the target system, scanning the planet, send a probe, you simply get the item with no really gameplay, back to citadel, mission done. WTF, BW!. From planet exploration with the Mako, to only "land on the planet and shoot stuff", to text and scan + probe based missions. Are...you...serious.

- the galaxy map with teh reaper stuff just sucks. There is no excuse for that. What's the point of scanning, going back, scanning, going back and so on?? Not to mention that you can actually DIE on the galaxy map....in a ME game. Yeah. Listen, dear designers. A game is supposed to be fun and not there to annoy the hell out of the player on something simple like a MAP SCREEN!

- dialog options are only "good" or "bad". We cant have a neutral Sheppard. Black and white. No grey.

- I understand that they didn't want a clichee ending but I'm not satisfied with it either. Way too much questions after the ending. Not to mention the uncreative receycling of the CGI movie....

- all armor pieces look damn ugly on a female Sheppard. Why cant they make the armor more feminime? Why cant we use Ashleys armor because it is the ME2 standard armor (you have all the old stuff from ME2 but not the actual standard armor available for Sheppard?). Lazy.

- the non-holstering really annoys me. Instead of "holstering" you get a stupid loading screen. For example on the citadels firing range. Why including armor pieces if you cant have a closer look at them during the game. I also dislike that you cant wear your armor on the citadel anymore but ALL the NPCs wearing armor. What is the reason behind all this. They already nerfed the choices you can make during dialogs, at least let us choose what kind of clothing we wanna wear on the Citadel. But no. Let's rush the game.

- the walking animations on the femshep look horrible, especially on the citadel. It really is a downer during the whole game. I tried to not to watch or think about it but toooo bad this game has a third person camera. The last game with horrible walking animation was Just Cause 1...and this game is like 5 years old! Why not using Sheppard's basic movements from ME2 + the new stuff (combat rolls etc.). Was that soooo hard? Sheppard is floating all the time in ME3. There is no weight behind the actually walking animations.
I know this was made because of the multiplayer and having a global animation system for all characters and races in multiplayer. But I dont care. It looks dumb and lazy.

>>>>>>> - random gamebreaking freezes during  loading screen, after
loading checkpoints, savegames in generel, entering the firing range on the citadel
etc.
<<<<<<<

Well, the games design has too much bad choices. ME2 was still "ok", and already toned down many things, but ME3 brings it to a whole new level...

Things I like:

- enemies are finally unique with 3 factions

- Sheppards new actions during a battle (walking from cover to cover, grabbing enemies behind objects, heavy melees etc.)

- lot's of weapons + mods (basically ME1 style and I like that)

- the graphics are better, especially femsheps hair

- EDI, because her body is very old-school-ish. She reminds me on the main character from "No one lives forever", a very old but fun PC game.
Image IPB

(I guess someone from BW actually looked at this picture or played the game :P because even her pose in the squad select screen is the same, lol)

- the multiplayer because I love co-op horde mode style game modes

yeah, there are not many things I like because I would love to like all the things from ME2, but unfortunately ME3 just scrapped them.

Only one criticism from me so far...

There's not enough Mass Effect. I really wanted a third arc after Rannoch's missions. Maybe a bit longer in terms of time passing et al. Still love the game so far though, 38 hours of it and I don't really want it to end =/

So far I am disappointed. It seems like the cut scenes are too long and pervasive. I feel like I am spending way too much time waiting for my next opportunity to act. Maybe I should switch to Action mode.

Another issue I have is that the characters seem to have unexpressive eyes and the lip sync is not correct. Image IPB
