Anyone disappointed?

Vega is a douchebag and I don't like him, but that new Prothean companion (I own the CE) is actually pretty sweet so it compensate. and so far the story is MUCH better than I expected, even though I find the very beggining of the game, on earth, weird and incomplete... I mean the first thing I'd ask to Vega is ''Who the **** are you ? a Jersey Shore character ?'', but Shepard already seems to know him so as the puppeter behind Shepard, I feel a little unuseful in this part.

People in general seemed to expect a game heavily focussed on RPG elements, which is a focus the whole franchise has been drifting away from ever since ME2. These folks are the disappointed group. It's an issue of false expectations.
Thats spot on, ME3 has as much as RPG elements equal to ME2 did. If not more.

Not being to see my Shepards face again from ME1 in ME3 kinda took away the "emotional" attachment. (I don't even know who you are!!)
There is an import bug on the PC, and I think on the XBox (no idea about PS3). It's in another thread and supposed to be getting fixed.

Auto-Dialog. I think Ashley was right about Cerberus controlling Shepard, I barely have input in what he says! Even the neutral option is gone, when a selection of dialog actually pops up.
In the game options you can set how often you want take part in, from the usual, to more interactive movie-ish. Change it until you find a mode you like. I have it set so I have to make every conversation option possible.

That's how the devs were selling the game right up until they got very quiet.
There is a thread on one of the other forums with pages of Dev quotes.
Actual footage of the game never indicated that. Don't trust anyone trying to sell his/her product to you when it comes down to what they tell you.

Not disappointed but I still find bizarre the idea of removing the Neutral option...

That's how I felt after the Tali scene where Shepard saw her face but I did not. Or in DA2 where Hawke is chatty with these people I'd never seen before.
Still only paying £5 can mitigate an awful lot of disapointment.

Less in Terms of conversation, but way more in terms of weapon mechanics.

Yep, a lot of the Bioware dev team's pre-release stuff was some of the most glorious grade - A bollox I've ever heard.

You'll really see this after you get Garrus and spend some more time on the citidel.

No. Just no. If it had more, it would have added the character customization currently available in ME3 while maintaining the same amount of control over the dialogue. That's how many people enjoy their RPGs.
I always found the whole franchise to be about a very cinematic "action-adventure/rpg-lite"ish (I lack the knowledge about a more sophisticated term) experience. From what I've seen, ME3 delivers that, which in turn makes me a happy panda.

But yeah, what you said too.
I'm thinking to myself, DON'T PEOPLE PLAY THE GAME? You know and find out that cerberus attempted to take over the Shadow Broker ship, forcing her to crash it into the planet but still getting away with the important stuff she needed to contunue brokering, and being a Prothean expert was needed on the dig site to possibly help stop organic life from being obliterated from the galaxy? You know, like......story progression.

One thing I'm seeing occassionally is the notion the game was rushed or the dev team didn't try as hard somehow. It's disheartening to see that because I can tell you the development team worked *incredibly* hard on the game, including a ton of personal sacrifice (hours worked, holidays skipped etc). This was a labor of love for the team and we're all very proud of what has been accomplished. There are bugs that got through (face import. we know) but they are being investigated for fixing etc.
I don't feel that it was skimped on what I've played, Jarrett. I really appreciate the merging of the Action / RPG in terms of game mechanics. Know that I feel its awesome in scope. I'm not far enough through to warrant a final judement.

Still dialogue is too railroaded, and some cameos are damn too short (hell, I wanted Jack to stay at the Normandy at least for a conversation, or having the chance to talk to Kasumi, and things like that), and I have the feelings that no choice is gonna be taken into account.
But it's being a great game. Between 8 and 9 out of 10 so far.

I don't think it's meant to be a personal attack on the devs. I think the majority of people understand how huge an undertaking it is to make a game like this. But there seems to be a fundamental disconnect between what fans of the previous games want to see in a sequel and what the devs think is cool or an improvement. We saw the same thing happen with Dragon Age 2. I'm sure the devs worked extremely hard on it, and it was objectively a pretty good game - but it wasn't the game that (very many) fans of DAO wanted to play.
I'm sure we all know that you guys have done this as a labour of love, but we still have the right to be disappointed if it's not the game we wanted to play. I guess everyone has different ideas about what that game should be.

Everybody who has worked hard in his life to set up and operate a business knows that all too well. Some of the younger members of this community can be excused for being rash and inconsiderate in their criticism.

Bioware did a tremendous job so far and if the ending is half as good as the first one's then this is definitely my favorite game trilogy ever.

Therein lies the heart of the matter... Not everyone can be pleased... Everyone has differenct expectations. They operated the best they could with what was possible to reach the broadest number...

I can tell. There is a boatload of stuff in here that is an improvement over ME1 and ME2 (graphics, sound, area layout, combat, details, class progression, cinematic presentation, etc...). It just looks like the conversation choices, which made the original game so immersive for me, seems to have suffered.Jarrett Lee wrote...

That's what has to happen for it to appeal to a broader audience.

Most of them are angry, because a lot of cool stuff was promised, but on release version it is missing. Maybe, if you didnt give people any concrete information about features(proper intro - trial, lot of choices in dialogues - now got lot of autodialogue, choices matters - like when you didnt do LOSB, but liara is always broker, etc.) in the game and then release the game, you wouldnt have such negativity now.
