You're looking at it the wrong way, N is more like 15, with almost all rolls of the dice being extraordinarily succrssful

Neglected to mention krogan soldier was my most played class in the demo by far, hence "favorite", and that I got geth shotgun multiple times in a row, then vindicator multiple times in a row, both times only when I was using them heavily

If you wish to disprove, then throw some math or clever reasoning out there, I'm sure some statistically minded can do some back of the envelope calculations.  As of now it appears to pass the smell test

It's all random, the unlocks aren't tailored to anything.

It's quite clearly not random.  It's clever, and a good system, because if it was truly random it'd be quite difficult to motivate to grind, which is the point of these unlockables.   Think harder

How isn't it random, the only element that isn't random is that you always get at least one gold card.

Also, there's nothing clever about skinnerian manipulation of players. It's a dark day when developers concentrate on addicting players rather than creating a fun game.

Ive gotten quite a few things

Incisor Sniper Rifle
3 characters with +100000 Xp bonus
Geth Plasma Rifle
Geth Shotgun
Disciple Shotgun
N7 Talon
N7 Assault Rifle (cant remember name)
+1 thermal clip

and a whole bunch of other stuff...

wait, so you actually can get the weapons from the n7 arsenal pack in multiplayer?

The Talon isn't from the N7 pack.  The "ultra-rare" card has an N7 logo on the side and that's where he got the "mislabeling" of the Talon.  The only assault rifle that's ultra rare is the M-99 Saber.

yea i kind of figured he got that mixed up, the only thing i'm not sure of is if he meant the n7 valkyrie or if he actually meant the falcon

Iv done three (or was it four) specter packs so far and have a taurian sentinel, quarian infiltrator, and krogan sentinel for classes. Weapons I got a geth assault rifle, revenant and that uh 3shot assault rifle I forget its name, but it works REALLY well with a taurian speced for stability.

Anyone else think they might as well at armor attachments at this point? I think that would really allow people to take character creation to a different level. Much like in the single player.

BIOWARE ILL PAY MORE FOR THIS!

Signed $70 already in and hell know im not giving you my MS points.

I run with that on my Turian Soldier, only using the Phaeston and relying on a lot of speed upgrades to power recharge.  It's more power based but is a lot of fun and feels very effective.

I got a gun that goes BOOM. The mini-grenade launcher thing...which feels more like a shotgun than a grenade launcher. Most of the unlock weapons are disappointments. The Graal shotgun thing too, which kind of sucks as well.

Crappy rare guns that may or may not register I've fired a shot depending on my host's latency.

I honestly can't remember the last time I've had less fun with a video game, and yet I continue the credits grind hoping to get an Asari Adept. I haven't even started single player yet, I've been so focused on trying to get my Asari that I am beginning to regret buying the game.

LOL, you & me both! I did unlock a Asari Vanguard with Stasis though as well as awesome armor-peircing mods that let you shoot through guardina shields, thin walls, & light cover, damage mods

Asari Adepts with Stasis Bubbles & biotic explosions rock (Human adepts with Warp & Shockwave biotic explosions are good too but not as awesome as Stasis bubbles)...

with just a Phalanx/Carnixfex pistol with scope & damage mods, he was throwing out stasis bubbles every 2 seconds or cooldown with the 30% chance for no cooldown (but I read that they increased Stasis cooldown by 50%+ on March 6th updates so now it seems it'll be 4 sec cooldowns with the +200% speed cooldowns carrying a pistol)

What puzzles me are why are most of the Adepts I see running around with TWO weapons that almost double their cooldown times?

Just carry 1 weapon if you're an adept so you can double your spam times (get that +200%ish power recharge times!) & quickly trigger biotic explosions

UPDATE: I have opened 28 spectre packs from MS points I had left over from the hoidays and I have opened 12 from in game credits. I now have all of the characters except one engineer and one adept. I have a couple level 5 guns: Geth Shotgun and the Graal Spike thrower. My favorite is my SMG 50% reduction weight mod! This system is WAY too addicting for me to actually play now and risk the item deletion glitch...

I've opened two so far and got The Incisor, The Viper, Quarian Engineer, Salarian Infiltrator and several mods/ equipment.  Takes roughly 4 wins on Bronze to get one. I could spend Microsoft points..but eh..
I am glad these are in the game as it makes unlocking stuff so much easier as long as you have the patience to save up.

GamesBeat did a 50 specter pack trial and the results were somewhat interesting.

http://venturebeat.c...-3-multiplayer/

after that I truly think it's mostly random as i got the disciple twice, the geth pulse shotgun, the widow, the krogen soldier, and turian soldier in my Specter packs.

The Widow seams to be pretty common (atleast for a rare) as they got it up to IX (there highest level weapon), I got it in my first specter pack and I've seen quite a few low level player with it.  i think it might be better to buy recruit packs until you max out some of the comon weapons as once a weapon reaches X you can't get it anymore.  With the common weapons and mods out of the way you'll stop getting them in Veteran and specter packs.

in terms of exp from character training devided by cost of pack; the recruit and veteran packs award 2.5exp per credit but the specter pack only rewards 1.66 exp per credit.  So if you ever get happy with your guns and just want to lv your classes faster (maybe to add a bunch war assets to SP quickly) then you might want to buy recruit packs en mass.

I once had two characters in a single spectre pack. I think it was Krogan Soldier and Quarian Infiltrator. It's totally worth it to save your money and get the spectre pack if you want good characters/weapons/upgrades. If you're looking for just equipment, stick with veterans pack

The First Pack I bought gave me a Black Widow and an Asari Vanguard. I got both the Quarian Infiltrator and Engineer in the first Veteran pack I bought. I've yet to play as a Vanguard, but I've gotten three Asari Vanguards and several shotguns and shotgun upgrades.
