Only problem is that you can't actually finish it because for some reason when you stand in the portal at the end, nothing happens. Not a good sign for a priority quest.

It worked for me - there's was a longish pause at some point whist Legion did his exposition dump, maybe you interrupted that (or gave up too early?)? At the end, you have to go back to a pod thingy like the one you started out in
