Well I only had one 100%(all side-quests done, lvl 60 etc) playthrough from ME1, and that one romanced Kaidan.

So when ME2 arrived I knew I'd have playthroughs where I'd choose someone else than Kaidan.
And my "main" Shepard chose Thane.

And then ME3 arrived and Thane's character is tossed under a bus!
And to top it off Kaidan apparantlty "forgives" Shepard for cheating and still "loves" her...

Gah NO! Kaidan take a hint for christsakes!
I think this was the only time I'd ever regretted not Virmiring him when I had the chance...

[Edit] I don't dislike Kaidan's character, but he really got on my nerves in the abovementioned scenario.

Chances are I would've definitely have romanced Miranda in ME3 if she was a permanent squad member, but I didn't in ME2 because I knew chances are as a ME2 character she'd get royally screwed over when it came to content, and I was right.

So I pretty much always choose Ashley because of the greater content

Edit: But I have no problems with choosing Ash, for me she's just as awesome when it comes to being a LI.

I don't like to call this a choice. Choices are equal. Or at least, they should be, in this context.

Instead, it's "choose between the characters we gave content to and the characters we didn't give content to."

Mass Effect 2 - also Liara.
And guess what? Mass Effect 3? Liara.

For my different playthroughs, I have to say that Tali's was the one I enjoyed the most but Miranda seems to be the better the fit for Shepard.

Nope. ME3 rolled around and I made a beeline for my assassin, in my one complete play through and two aborted ones. Kaidan can't hold a candle to my drell.

I plan on doing a manshep at some point, and he'll be dump Ashley for Miranda. I find the ME2 li's much better than me1.

Nope, I've been able to choose quite easily. Too bad BW thought I'd automatically go for Kaidan over Thane. Yeah, right had I really wanted you Kaidan I would have not moved on. Yes, moved on NOT cheated. I knew the push for Kaidan was going to be coming after Thane's death and that was something I found repulsive. Ugh, who starts hitting on someone right after that person's love has died? Again, bad timing, bad writing pick one. Since I knew it was coming, I blew off Kaidan in the hospital (both times), was a jerk to him on Mars, and when it came time to persuade him to put his weapon down, I couldn't do it so I had to shoot him. Dry humping my Shep averted.

All my other FemShep's all went for Thane only, no choice there.

My Sheploo, Liara then Jack. If I could replay the whole game again, I'm pretty sure he'd have no trouble choosing Jack over Liara. Does Jack slap Sheploo like she does to FemShep? I hope so, my Sheploo would love that in a perverse kind of way.

Nope, I stuck with Jack, Jacob and Thane. The actual romance didn't go so well.

I thought I would, but even with Bioware CLEARLY favoring characters from ME 1.

Ashley's ****iness and Miranda's pure awesomeness made the choice quite easy.

Really? The ugliest?  What about her fugly assistant Nyxeris (sp?)?

Took me FOREVER to choose between Liara and Tali.

Still don't know if I made the "right choice," but decided to stay with Liara simply because she was mine since ME1. If Tali was an option in ME1, might've been impossible to choose.

I just started a new mshep--I wanted to play a vanguard shep in 3, but I hate the default story so couldn't bring myself to play without backgrounds from the first two games--and I intend for him to romance Ashley, save her on Virmire, then turn to Tali after Ash breaks his heart on Horizon, and live happily ever after with the geth Tali on Rannoch, endings be damned.

My "main" shep, a femshep, romanced Liara and remained loyal through all three games. An ME2 original romanced Garrus, and another ME2 original (with a gibbed-in ME1 plot) romanced no one (save kelly because fish) because I was pretending she and Legion had a thing (I modded that playthrough so I had Legion throughout most of the missions ).

My only other mshep, who's still back in mid-ME1, will probably go for one of the S/S options. So he'll have to hold out through 2 games. XD

I'm actually looking forward to seeing how it plays out when you go from either Kaidan to Garrus, or Garrus to Kaidan. Wish there was some little jealosy-banter... but that's just my inner fangirl who likes such things, lol

I think they're both a little to mature to engage in such snarky behavior (such as the catfight between Ashley and Tali), but I would have appreciated some kind of acknolwedgement--even if it was just like...I don't know...finding Garrus and Kaidan on the ship somewhere and one telling the other congrats and take care of her or whatever.  It certainly didn't seem like much of a love triangle.

I personally will never start a romance in ME2, so it's incredibly easy to stay "faithful", even though Horizon is clearly a break up. I can't imagine playing a character who is so cool with working with Cerberus and going on a suicide mission right after being raised from the dead that she'd want to hit on her teammates. No thanks, especially with the choices FemShep had.
