I haven't gotten very far into the game but heard that you have an opportunity to persuade the Illusive Man in Mars to help you defeat the reapers which ultimately triggers an event in the end.  Does anyone know how to successfully persuade him?  Apparently, the guide doesn't say how to do persuade him.  I selected the blue choice on the left to ask him for his help but I have no idea of knowing if that actually did anything or not.  Does anyone know?

You have to choose the paragon choice in all the dialogues with him. That way you can convinve him to commit suicide.

Not only this, you also HAVE to ask him the question on the left side of the dialogue wheel when it comes up.

No Investigation = no persuasion

Thanks dudes. I just saw "necro" used in another thread and wondered what was meant, then this gift appeared and viola! Answered!

I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that OP is hanging onto the answer (how many back pages of thread did it take to find this one and resuscitate?).

In any case, the answers do help me today.  I was wondering just the other day what it takes to coax TIM to blow his brains out.  I don't mind doing it myself but I did wonder.
