"Let's get rid of user reviews!" Really?

Why is it that recent Bioware games get hit with a flood of 0s and 1s whereas Skyrim and TW2 are in the green?

Because the is a conspiracy against Bioware or people had "unrealistic expectations" (right...and Skyrim didn't) or they're simply annoyed at the highly questionable business practices...

It's nothing to do with the games themselves...

User "reviews" that are posted 1 hour post launch, contain homophobia, spam, outright lies, impersonating devs etc. Yes, those have nothing to do with the games themselves.

Skyrim is "in the green" because TES has a fanbase that is MUCH larger than ME's or DA's and never mind that it's not currently cool to hate on Bethseda. (Despite their reusing their writing since Morrowind....in every TES title. Or their detached storytelling and subzero character development...) And TW2 is "in the green" because CDPR is the "cool Indie RPG developer" atm. Once they get BIG, they'll get their very own entitled, rude, obnoxious "core fanbase". Will they fall as far as threatening a dev with rape, death and commit libel, impersonation and other delightful behavior? No. That's what Bioware's "fanbase" (I am horrified to be attached to that mob, simply because I love these games) specializes in.

Most are pissed off about the day 1 DLC and the crap ending, the second one I gave the game a low score on for a reason.

Sorry, but every act of sub-intelligent trolling on the internet can and will be attributed to 4chan, even if they're not directly responsible.  It's not my fault that your people are synonymous with sub-intelligence.

I hope I'm not supposed to feel insulted by that

Its easier to just blame us for very bad critique bioware gets huh?
Much easier than to actually come to terms with how bad bioware is getting lately. "Hurr 4chan is legiuuun they hate everything XDDDDXDD"

But the only person who does that is you. And that was only after you realized we weren't involved

Why are you so angry over a video game company? Oh, nothing better to do with your life but spread hate and miserable attitudes? Get a job, a girlfriend, a life, ANYTHING, I am so sick of all you "we want everyone who's popular to fail!" hipsters who are pissed off at someone or some entities success. It's obvious it's due to the lack of success in your own life. Loser.

I don't realize you weren't involved, though.  For all I know you're lying.  I'm just telling you that a lot of people are going to bring up 4chan when childish things are happening on the internet.  A lot of people besides me already have on these forums.  No offense intended; being a child isn't necessarily a bad thing.

The trolls should've waited until a little while after the game released so it wasn't so obvious that they hadn't even played the game yet.  Mass spamming a couple hours after release is just lazy, poorly thought out trolling.

This is very funny.
Basically this boils down to "people are too stupid to be able to pick 3 different phrases of the same choice"
I'm sorry but 1 and 2 had just as little dialog choices.
The differences now I don't feel like my intelligence is insulted when I pick "sure" instead of "yes"
DXHR had auto dialog.
It also had dialog options that weren't stupid.
From what I've seen of the game its just making it less stupid.
But please by all means call us morons for seeing passed the illusiong of choice

Did DA:O not outsell every Bethesda game released prior? I thought it did and I guess you never visited the Bethesda forums. Like here, the "fanbase" hates the game released for awhile and then it dies down.

You're smarter than that...

You know that CoD crowd that is that huge demographic all the studios want so bad.  2.1 user review score for Modern Warfare 3.  So much for that theory.

It's "cool" to hate on Bioware?  Really?  You honestly believe that?  I must have not got the memo.

And even if you do, what has it done in the past 24 months since users gave Mass Effect 2 an 8.6 when I'm guessing from you're logic that it must of been "cool" to be a Bioware fanboy?  Could it have something to do with making sequels which make fundamental changes to beloved games and dubious business practices that the company knew would annoy their customers?

CD Projeckt is the "cool Indie RPG developer" and once thy get BIG then they'll get the rude core fanbase...but didn't you just say a few lines earlier that a MUCH larger fanbase was the reason Skyrim is in the green?

Lol Maybe 2 but when is the last time you played 1? maybe you need to go back and see how much dialog you can choose is in the game. I knew ME3 would have mostly auto dialog from interviews where Bioware said people complained about choosing dialog.

I didn't call you a child, I've never even met you.  4chan is just a place where children congregate and childish things tend to result from that collective.  I'm just stating commonly understood information but you're free to continue feeling insulted if you want.

You've got some major misconceptions in there.

-First, Bethesda tends to lie to you.  Go look at Fallout 3,  Bethesda announces "Fallout 3 ships 4.6 million!",  but when you add up the official NPD numbers,  they didn't come anywhere close,  less than half IIRC.

-Second,  Bethesda goes to great lengths to make sure their community is tightly controlled.  There's a reason you don't see hate,  it's not because people aren't upset.  Go type "Oblivion sucks" into a post there to get an example of what I mean.

Things aren't always what they seem.  There's reasons why I will never buy a Zenimax made game again.

If you don't believe me go there yourself. It's not like you need to know a secret handshake to get in. I'm sure some people there are panning it (Bioware hasn't been too popular on /v/ since DA2) but there's no organised raid. Most anons cringe at that kind of thing.

I finished my latest playthrough of 1 just 3 days ago.
Lets see if my memory serves me right.
Before the citadel you have 3 spots where each choice is the same.
The ending haha.
Should I say "its not over the reapers are still coming" or should I say "The reapers are still coming I need to get busy"
OOH I love all those wonderful choices where I agree or agree.
People put ME1 on this pedastal and i just don't see it.
I have to FORCE myself to play it again for the save import to 2 because without it 2 is less fun.
Sure there were some real decisions to make but I notice the difference.
It seems i'm part of the CoD/GoW crowd for that

Well I know very little about 4chan as my only 2 visits I didn't really feel like I would like the site.
I'm not going to jump on the 4chan hatewagon like that other guy but I just find it silly that you think you know what the entire site does or doesn't do.
If another site says BSN's been trolling them I'm not gonna go in there and say there not because I don't know what every poster on here is doing at all times.

Guys please quit the name calling. Whatever you think of 4chan, insulting people is not the way to express that.

And to answer an earlier comment, BioWare does not dictate how Metacritic runs their site, but we hope they will remove all erroneous or baseless reviews, no matter what the score is.

Lastly, I think that every fanbase has similar issues to the ones we are dealing with (and by we I'm counting you guys). Perhaps the issues in our community are getting reported on by the press more than others, but as someone who frequently looks at other gaming communities, I assure you, we're not alone in this problem of trolling and negativity. Mainly, I regard it as a side effect of being very passionate about something and that can sometimes lead to anger. Sometimes it just leads to awesome fan art ;)

It is my personal desire Metacritic will uphold this policy for all entertainment on their site as accurate user reviews are very helpful for many when it comes to making consumer decisions.
