You act as if it's only reviews from big journalism companies which liked Mass Effect 3. Nobody's more trustworthy than Rock Paper Shotgun, and they liked it.

Or Giantbomb for that matter.

Still, for the most part, the inmense majority of gaming sites have glossed over the flaws of the game in favor of giving it a nice, pretty review so that they can please their contributors.

Jeff (GiantBomb) was very clear about Mass Effect 3 being a disappointment for fans. On the Bombcast he also said you should only buy it if you're a fan of the first two (because it doesn't have much to offer non-fans; also, he noted that the fans are the people most likely to be bummed out).  Probably the most accurate review I've read of ME3, though that doesn't surprise me considering it's the GB guys.

I was shocked to find out Jeff only gave the game four stars, but you can always count on Jeff to do precisely that, to be honest, and to tell it to you straight.

Umm. I'll produce a review on Mass Effect 3 when I've finished my playthrough.

I'm enjoying the game. I love the characters on the Normandy.

Liara, Garrus, Tali, ****, James and Kaidan. Shame there aren't any Mass Effect 2 squadmates.

A ton of references to Mass Effect 1 & 2 along with books.

I don't feel cheated as a fan of the previous two games but I would be so confused if I hadn't played the other two. I strongly disagree about what Casey Hudson said about ME3 being a good jumping point to the Mass Effect franchse.

I was scratching my head over references to Kai Leng, Kaylee Sanders and other characters from the books. There are consequences to your actions. Knowing that past actions were having severe consequences for Mass Effect 3 was amazing.

But all the sidequests on the Citadel. Oh that annoys me. Inbetween missions I go there to clear up my list of quests only to over hear yet another conversation where I have to go up and down to areas doing errand and fetch quests.

Perhaps it's time Shepard employed someone to do this on his/her behalf. An envoy.
