Okay so I was generally enjoying some Mass Effect 3, but it seems that the landscape and sky when I'm planetside have all been replaced by a blinding white light. I didn't see this topic elsewhere, and fiddling with my graphics options doesn't seem to help.

I'm running it on a laptop, which I know isn't the best, with Vista 32-bit,  an Intel Core 2, and a nvidia GeForce Go 7200 GS video card. Below are some examples of what I'm seeing on earth in the first level. Thanks for your time!

I'm experiencing the same issue.

I'm running it on a Dell Inspiron e1705 with a nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS.

Hey Cmdrbob1 & Runrunpasspunt,

Unfortunately both of your cards are under the minimum specifications required to play ME3 so you may encounter some graphic related issues. Sorry for the inconvience.

To clarify, the 7900 GS is considered an acceptable card to play on but the mobile version ("Go") is considered under the minimum specification required.

Hey,

I had similar issues. The most helpful thing I've found so far is adding "DepthofField = false" to the gamersettings.ini file at ...Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3\\BIOGame\\Config, under "system settings." You still can't see graphics beyond a certain distance (any atmospheric effects or distant structures), but this mitigates the "white-out" loss of borders by essentially flipping distant images to all-black.

Not ideal, but at least tolerable. Would love to hear if anyone's come up with better solutions!

Got a personal message asking if I'd made any more progress, thought I'd update the board as well:

I've just making do with the modification I described above. The blackout is a lot less harsh on the eyes than a whiteout :-/

I think an honest-to-goodness fix would take a mod of the game itself to re-program how it displays distance when you're on planet surfaces (I've noted zero change with different drivers, though I didn't pursue that to all extremes)...probably a lost cause. Indoor settings, at least, fully render.

The nice thing is that so far (I'm 4ish missions in) it hasn't impacted gameplay - just (in-game) cutscenes, people looking at things in the distance, etc - and the what is usually obvious enough from context, if a bit lamer for people gawking at a "reaper" in the nothingness.

I recently received a private message directing me to a russian fansite here:
http://www.masseffec...forum/80-2525-1

I was able to download and run the 3D Analyzer program they recommend without any problems, but Mass Effect 3 won't run through that program for me. I thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to try it out for yourself though.

While not wanting to spoil anything, I have noticed that the background does make an appearance in one or two missions later, though who knows why.

Does anybody know how to run ME3 through 3D Analyzer? I have the same problem.
