Repeatedly throughout my entire game I've told Liara and Ashley plenty of times I did /NOT/ want a relationship with either as I wanted Tali in ME2 to be the first. The game constantly kept making it seem like I was romanced with Ashley even if I told Liara I was only friends with Ashley.
Now I'm at the end at about 150 hours of gameplay (Including deaths etc - Playing on Insanity, reading every single codex, planet info, exploring every inch of every planet etc.) and guess what - Ashley appears in my quarters to try and bloody rape me! (Sort off, she won't back off when I told her plenty of times really.) Is there any way to break the romance in this very last conversation? I googled and found that even if you tell her you don't want to sleep with her now it'll still count as a romance towards ME2.
So I loaded because I did not want it to be like that, having to endure the hole cinematic of going to Ilos and blahblah, and when I loaded (to a quicksave inside of the engineering room in the normandy.) my entire screen is black and I can't move or anything, so I'm forced to go back to an Autosave from right after I finished Virmire because for some reason it didn't feel the need to autosave at any other time.
Anybody else had this happen, or can help?
Ashley Romance Error - Rape ? Please help me.

Right, tried saying all the renegade things in the very last conversation and it won't work. Guess I'll just have to throw all those /PERFECT/ 150 hours out of the window and start all over again. Or is there some way to modify my savegame to stop this? I seriously don't want to waste it all.

Wow... I LITERALLY just ran into this same problem not even two hours ago. Was replaying ME1 to avoid the Ashley Romance so Shepard could have Tali guilt free in ME2 and avoid any crap in ME3 when the same thing happened. I Told Liara we were just friends and never made a move on Ash at all.
(I'm a paragon, being forced to be an ass to Ash is unacceptable for me as a way to avoid the romance.) I just used Gibbed's save editor on my ME2 completed game save to remove the ashley romance before I head into ME3, though a few things I know I did weren't checked in that. I'd give it a try but make a copy of your save file in case you screw it up.

Yeah, I'm just going to let her die in Virmire. Initally I did it because well..
Kaidan = Headaches from L2.
Ashley = No headaches.
Kaidan = Doesnt mention family.
Ashley = Mentions family alot.
Thats why I did it first.. But then at more thought.
Kaidan = Not a xenophobe.
Ashley = A xenophobe.
Kaidan = Doesn't mention religion.
Ashley = Strong believer of God.
Soooo it evens out somewhat, I really wanted to take her along but.. Ohwell. So be it!

You could finish the game start it in mass effect 2 use gibbed to change the relationship and say you are at endgame then import that mass effect 2 save as new game +.
All your choices will be the same but there will be no Ashmance. I did this exact thing for same reasons.

Really? I get most of it, but I'm not sure how to modify, or hell even import a modified savegame like that. How/What exactly would I have to do for that? I'd REALLY appreciate it tbh. And can I then move it to ME3? Much appreciated so far

I love being renegade, not played 3, don't like Ashley neither, she's a racist ****, keep wanting to go to Liara as she is sweet and rather innocent, has a quality I like.
If you had smite her on the first mission and when she entered the ship, she'd have left you alo0ne, motivation to do that comes with watching her actions to the aliens.

You can run Ashley off if you use the bottom right option when she first mentions not trusting aliens - I think it's something like "You're crossing the line." or whatever. That basically breaks the romance flag.

I decided to widen my interest for 3, but I'm finding it tough not to tell her off, I just can't stand her.

Use the mass effect save editor and find the ashley lines and tick them off.
EDIT: scratch that, a save editor for ME1 doesnt exist, i almost lose my save because i kept having kaidan showing up after normandy lockdown on that 1v1 conversation instead of liara. Luckily i had an old save and had to go over it again like 8 times until i got liara to show up instead of him

Yeah, Exactly T_T I could apparantly use a ME2 Savegame editor, but I have no idea how and wouldn't it stop me from going over to ME3? (I was adviced to edit the romance and then skip to the ending, and then restart. If anybody knows how, I'd LOVE a step-by-step plan. I could perhaps looks it up in a week or two but I'd like to play in my free time, consuming IRL atm, hospital visits, work. etc etc.)

Re-read the thread, good sir.
Can anybody confirm that I can modify my ME2 save and still be able to go to ME3 with it?

I'd reaaaally appreciate it, I can't continue my playthrough.. Well I can, but I'd loose hours and the interest.

I find this somewhat surprising given how relatively easy it is make her mad. The "Your out of line" response when it comes up always cancels her romance. Common logic is that telling Liara that you aren't interested in Ash also cancels it, although you might have to also tell Liara you are interested in her as well.
Another point to cancel the romance is if you continue on the Liara conversation path via side missions and you will eventually get taken directly into her conversation about Asari reproduction, which typically should not occur until after you choose her exclusively.
At any rate, you should clearly take a bottom right response if necessary. Bottom right does not always mean you get renegade points, nor does it automatically make you a ruthless space fascist.
Did you not tell Ash to leave you alone during the Normandy lockdown scene? That should be another way out.
You should be good to go if you use ME2 gibbed and play ME2 with it.
