I'm kinda weary of being nice to Cortez.....especially with persuasion options

Yes I know. Don't tell him "I'm waiting for the right man" and after that, don't tell him you want more with him than just friendship. Doesn't sound that hard, don't you think?

When you meet him at Purgatory he'll say something about enjoying the eye candy on the dance floor. Pick the response that indicates you like looking at the ladies and you're good. Not sure how you could ninjamance him. Up until Purgatory, he doesn't even flirt with you.

I don't get why he'd even be so easily convinced to romance Shepard - considering his husband died like seven months ago.

That's more time than Jaheira took.

So, before talking to cortez on the citidel (during first half of game), there was a blue dialog option during one of our conversations on the normandy. Is the suggesting romance? -sorry don't quite remember the context of that conversation...something about missing his husband.

Um, it's impossible. There's a conversation with him in the Citadel bar, and you have to select the three correct options in that conversation for it to turn into a relationship. You'd honestly have to be not paying attention to that conversation and be very very unlucky to 'accidentally' romance him.

Paragon options only offer comfort in a normal way you might to someone who is grieving.

Yeh I didn't find it possible to ninjamance in ME3. I mean I had to basically actively pursue Kaidan...

When you meet him at Purgatory, tell him you like the female strippers. He'll get the idea.

True story.

This thread was dead and should have stayed dead - on the other hand, I suppose it beats most topics on the first page. And at any rate, as far as I can tell, you don't get ninjamanced or ninjakissed or ninjabonked.

I don't think it is possible to get ninjamanced by anyone in this game. All of the options I came across were pretty clear.

Tell him you prefer the Asari strippers in the bar scene. Problem solved(?)

Wow, new to me that the relationship commitment started with the bar scene. I personally thought simply skipping the "do it for me" option was the one which was taking care of that particular relationship in a nice way. Then Shep's comment about admiring the stage is just counterpoint humor? Still, it'll be fun to try out the variations.

Yup, when he ponts out the "eye candy" (guy dancing) on the dance floor, simply point out that you'd rather watch the (female) dancers on the stage.  He laughs, says he'd rather not have you as competition anyway, and you go back to being just two guys enjoying a drink.

It's really well done.  It's not abrupt, Shepard doesn't come across as a jerk.

If you keep talking to him, Shepard can convince him to move on from the past. Only after that will Cortez be romancable.

And I thought being hip and cool involved saying "surrender" every ten seconds, but hey, I stand corrected! Thanks for contributing your thoughts and keeping this thread up here, though!

... you mean like you're doing right now by replying? I guess it's okay when you do it.
Actually I'm hip and cool by constantly comparing you to Saren, Saren.

Everything up to the bar is just Shepard giving comfort and encourgement.
