Seems to me someone has OUTRAGE without all teh facts.

The answer Moogle posted is a mixed one.

Pulling out your internet lead, is not a solution. Well...It is because it disconnects the internet.

But playing with the internet on means internet is being used and so is Origin.

Unless i mis-read your post and Moogles. Anyone understand what i am saying?

Problem probably was because the OP tried and that Origin logon thing popped up. People don't know you can enter your password and be offline and it will still pass. Maybe that information could have been clearer.

Obviously Origin is running in offline mode, otherwise I wouldn't be able to start the game...

Moogle is right. You can play the PC copy offline, just liek we said.

I wish you were right Chris, but it's not the case for me. I already validated the DLC several times, but every time I have no internet connection this message appears:

Unable to authroize the listed DLC. Please log in to the Alliance Network with the account used to purchase the DLC. From Ashes

But you can still play the game. You just can't access any DLC you may have.

What is the point in that? You can't play dlc without internet?

The exact wording was

Is constant Origin connection required or is it a single one off authentication when the game is first installed. Is there also a limit to the number of installations available?
Mass Effect 3 will require a one time, single authorization for the single player game. There is no limit to the number of installs. Playing Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer will require a constant connection.

Sauce

I was wrong.

I apologize to the original poster and agree that BioWare has mislead us. This is disappointing.

The conventionally used word is "lied".

Bioware lied to us.  Again.

The only thing that requires an active internet connection is the Multiplayer.. my DLC works even without internet, you need to activate it once and then it works, like they said.

Wrong.

If you have From Ashes, or the collector's edition for that matter, you can not play in offline mode. It tells you your DLC isn't validated and won't let you load your file.

I'd really like an answer to this.

My DLC works if Origin is in offline, but the game won't load at all if my computer isn't connected, regardless of Origin's state.

It says the DLC couldn't be authorized.

Doesn't seem like a bug to me that they have a pop up window specifically for that situation telling me the file won't be loaded due to authorization issues.

I wonder what this system is even supposed to accomplish? It has no effect on pirated/cracked versions so the only thing its doing is preventing people with internet issues from using the game. :(

Hey could you give us a guide on how to accomplish this?

When I try to play without a connection it says that my DLC can't be authenticated and refuses to load.

Welcome to the wonderful world of DRM and Origin.

As long as they shareholders can be told "we're doing something about piracy, and it sells the pleebs stuff too!", the actual customer experience doesn't matter.

The only way to stop it is to stop buying all products with invasive/lockout schemes.

I have the CE and was able to play offline. Not the first time because it would give that message but after restarting the game, I can do it while not connected.

My avatar is part of the CE collection avatars to even show that.

Man, I'm so glad I stopped caring about Bioware games...I don't have the patience to be dealing with crap that never works properly. (Origin)

I just tried playing offline (internet connection disabled) and it worked fine, including all my DLC - the weapons, the squadmate, etc. It doesn't look like this is a problem at all.

This is where video games are moving towards. Now a days if you want to play a game, you need the internetz....

They need to seriously go back to when video games had everything in them and DLC's downloaded should be able to be played offline. Also, Bring back the +20 character codes again to unlock things. This whole "I need to have an account for a bajillion things in order to get my content that I paid for" has to go!

Ahh so there is a bonus to being European and getting the game later, you guys do all the bug finding for us so the games working when we finally get our grubby mitts on it!
