happened to me five or six times in a row last night - the From Ashes DLC won't validate and you can't load your save game.

At least it was only five or six times. With our servers I had to work at it for a good 20 minutes before I was able to load my game.

Com on! Its simple, you can sign in offline to play single player without a connection, and you have to sign in online to play multiplayer.

I just think origin is pointless. If you have the disc you should not need origin, but if you have a digital copy I can understand.

I just tried playing offline (internet connection disabled) and it worked fine, including all my DLC - the weapons, the squadmate, etc. It doesn't look like this is a problem at all.

How did you do it? Can you list the steps?

When I do it, it gives me an error: My DLC is not authorized.

It won't let me play at all unless I maintain my connection.

Oh and you are on PC right?

To authorize the DLC on first time use, you must have a connection. Once it's authorize then do this while offline.

When you start the game, Origin will pop up. Put in your password even though you are not connected to the internet. Origin remembers it apparently. Origin will be put in Offline mode but the game and everything in it will work. (except of course Multi-player and no update to Galaxy at War number)

Do you have from ashes? Collector's Edition? These are the exact steps I follow but unless I maintain constant connection, I get the DLC invalidated problem and the game won't start.

If I follow these steps exactly as you post them it tells me I can't play without connecting to the EA servers to validate my DLC, as the image I posted shows.

So just one though that has been bugging me for quite a time. WHY do the companies even insist on selling us physical media? It would be more green, eco, and generaly fun to sell us just some solid plastic cards with authentization keys for the products.
Right now, I still have to have internet connection to install the game, launch the game and all this stuff. Sure, I can probably play without the connection, but the current system kinda blurs the difference between Digital Download Edition and solid CD copy...

So... bump? Am I totally unable to play when EA's servers go down? It seems extremly misleading to tell us that you don't need a constant connection, and then... require a constant connection.

Bringing this up after closing the otehr thread.

Cobra, if you have followed the steps outlined and it is still not working for you, please contact Customer Service as you are having an unexpected issue. This does work for most people, so if it is not working as intended, you do need to get help so you are working correctly.

Just posting my own experience with this issue.

When I tried signing in with an active internet connection, I also received the "cannot access saved game (which involved DLC content) because we cannot authorize your DLC on the EA servers," or some other message to that extent.

However, when I turned off my internet connection before starting the game, and then opened the game, I had no trouble, and could access all of my content, including the DLC.

This is just anecdotal, but it worked for me, and might for others, too.

So, didn't bioware promise that you can play the game offline once you activated it via Origin?!

It's not so! Everytime you want to start the game it checks whether the DLC is really tied to your account thus requireing internet, why for the love of god is this happening??? If you are NOT signed in into Origin with an ACTIVE connection YOU CANT PLAY THE GAME.

What the hell, I would like an official statement why we were lied to.

I've always hated this kind of DRM. It does nothing to stop piracy and typically just inconveniences the user. I guarentee you the DLC protection will probably be cracked by somebody in a week or two. This has always been the case.

That week or two is when most of the sales are made.

I have this exact same problem. On average I spend around 30 minutes of retrying to connect to the EA servers each time I start the game. Eventually I get lucky and it goes through and I can play. But it's ****ing infuriating. I'm this >.< close to downloading a pirated DRM-free version. ****ing Origin. Try Steam next time guys. Never had a problem with that.

Sounds like the same issue that happened with ME2 DLC, was to do with DLC not authorising when using wireless broadband connections, which they then fixed in patch 1.02 I think.

Scratch that....my offline is working, and LDC is authroising properly.

Shouldn't have to give cram-on spyware special internet access just to play a game that you have purchased.

I've also had an issue loading my saved game that has the From Ashes DLC. It worked fine before, but once I made it past the DLC mission, now my save won't load if I'm offline. If I log online, then connect to EA servers, then I can load my game.

So... if this isn't common behavior, I'm taking that to mean it's not something people are rushing to get patched?
Heh. Guess purchasing a game doesn't count as good karma. I have to use Origin, and I can't even load my game without an Internet connection. I wondering if those with pirated copies of the game are having this same issue... I'm guessing not.

Yeah, I'm bitter. But I've sent email off to customer support, hopefully I get an answer that doesn't require me to connect to the Internet every time I want to play.

I don't know how people are getting there copy of ME3 to play offline. My internet goes out every day at around 2 until 1 in the morning (charter cable is **** right now, they say they're working on it) and even though Origin has confirmed my DLC install. anytime I try and play the game without an active connection ME3 tries to re verify he DLC which it already did when i had internet and fails to let me play the game.

this DRM is broke.

Psst, guess what? There are already pirated versions that don't have to deal with Origin BS.
Yet another example of the paid users getting shafted with bad DRM practices.

Wow, I feel for everyone having trouble. That can be frustrating beyond belief at times. And it does bring to mind how in reality things like Origin & DRM are nearly useless for preventing piracy despite what the companies claim. It's about control, plain & simple.

GOG.com has been smashing all of these "we need to have DRM to protect our product from pirates!" talk for years now. They are growing like gangbusters by offering reasonably-priced software, DRM-Free, that you can download & actually own.

I was having this problem until a few minutes ago, turns out I had hamachi showing a LAN connection and apparently the game was trying to connect through that. Try disabling network adapters as well?

I had posted a thread yesterday about a similar issue...not to hijack the thread here, but I would love to get a final answer on my situation! It seems like all I have gotten at this point is conflicting information.

I purchased the Collector's Edition of ME3 for the 360. I currently do not have internet access where I'm living so I brought my harddrive, game, and DLC codes to my parents house this weekend. I used my harddrive to sign into my normal gamertag/profile and downloaded the bonus content including "From Ashes" and the "Online Pass Access". I had no problem with the download and the download was made on my gamertag/profile and to my harddrive. I brought the harddrive home and can't access the DLC anywhere!!!

Is this a similar issue? Must I have online access to "verify" the DLC legally aquired and paid for on my harddrive?!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated as this seems to be a horrible setup.

Yeah it's pretty terrible. One thing you could try is removing the DLC folder from your install and see if that works if you have no internet at all.

Of course, you can't play the DLC you paid for then.

BioWare needs to acknowledge this as an issue on their end as many users suffer the same fate and patch it.
