It looks very promising. There are already hints in game that it will take place in Orlais, and sales have been great so there's a big chance we'll see a great squeal in a couple years.
I'm really hoping that we will see the same thing that happened with Baldurs Gate series.
Baldurs Gate 1 was great. Baldurs Gate 2 was absolutely legendary.
I'm hoping they look back at BG2 and throne of Bhaal and maybe try and use more from those games. I mean, if it ain't broke. Don't fix it. Just because Dragon Age is the newer game doesn't mean you have to recreate the wheel.
What I mean by that is things like 6 man party. Only having 3 companions with you is very limiting especially if you play on harder difficulties.
More optional content. Dragon Age is a great game but all the big set pieces and areas are all part of the main story/origin stories. All the optional stuff in DA:O is just collection quests mostly, ala World of Warcraft.
I miss the feel you had in Baldurs Gate 2 when you enter the city and it's completely up to you how much you do. The main quest at that part is very simple. Get 20000 pieces of gold. How you get it is totally up to you.
Now I know totally understand that there's a big difference between making pre rendered 2D art backgrounds and explorable 3D environments.
But what I'm at least hoping for is the same that happened with Baldurs Gate. You already have a great working engine, you maybe add some more graphical polish, but most of the time is spent making awesome content, not making the engine work ect.
I'm just rambling on here, but you get the idea
