Hello everyone haveing a rather tough time playing this game. Now i can get it started make a new game but soon as i start to play it just freezes at random points and i have to turn the power off on my computer because the whole system seems to freeze up. Now i can restart the game after i reboot my system and play again and i can get past the point i last crashed but then it crashes at a new place. When i say i crash i mean the screen freezes at what ever action is going on sometimes it goes black as well and the sound turns to kinda a loud white noise and its stuck left it for 30 min was still stuck makeing a load screching sound. I have the newest drivers for my SLI Nvidia GTX 460s and i have played with the settings on the cards aswell to no avail. Anyone that has any advise be glad to hear it.

SLI Nvidia GTX 460 newest drivers
Windows 64 bit
6 gigs of ram

I started having issues with it freezing up at the same point for like 6 times, so i had to turn the power off just like you, so what I did was I uninstalled both origins and the game, reinsatlled orgins 1st with updates then the game with its updates if any and its working fine for me now.

I have had the same issue using the newest Nvidia drivers. My brother is running the previous drivers without a prob. Remember reading a thread at Gefore.com where setting the video cards power management setting to "performance" has helped, but I havn't noticed a difference. I may reinstall the old drivers.

Ya having the same same thing, game locks up giving a repeating buzzing sound, and i am forced to shut down system, it's quite random i can play 1hour or 5hours before it happens

GeForce GTX 560Ti Super OC'd (Newest Nvidia Drivers) also tested with older drivers no change.

Additional Info
I have stress tested my system with various benchmarks for 3 - 4 hours each to see if there are any instabilities with MY system, and i have found non, so this is a underlying problem with Mass Effect 3 (and it ONLY happens with mass effect 3 no other game to this date)

Had the game freeze at the same ladder a bunch of times. Updated drivers...nothing.....updated game...nothing. Then did a repair from origin and it worked after that! Hope it helps.

Ok Folks I down graded my Nvidia drivers to 285.62 and it tried to do that freeze and constant noise again but in about less than a second it fixed itself and i have played longer then i have been able to as of yet. So if this is happening to you try to down grade the driver to 285.62 and make sure your audio driver is fully rdy. This may not of been biowares fault if this is the fix then its Nvidia which shouldnt be a surprises since anytime they say they optimized a driver for a game we should all assume thats code for broke it good luck and ill keep trying to help any i can since we are the only ones that will do anything

Ctrl alt delete and open task manager then go to the process, should avoid the restart at least.

Yeah that was the first thing i tried and ctrl atl delete didnt work at all my whole system was frozen. But rolling back the drivers on my Nvidia GTX 460 fixed the problem. Played 2 hours without a problem before it was happening every 2-12 minutes.

I have the same problem and I had it in ME2 too. This only happens with the ME games. ;(
