Same problem here. Got a bug at same spot at the Sanctuary, crashing the game. Noticed that my pistol (arc pistol V) had a problem as well: special ammo visual doesn't appear on it, and I cannot make it appear.
Otherwise, only noticed 2 other crashes of the game, one being after 10ish hours of continuous playing. ^^
Anyways, would be nice to have EA/BW answer and correct this bug.
Also using Win7 x64.
I'm not sure if you're having the same problem as us. Our crashes make the sysem unresponsive and are completely *random* they can not be repeated at the same spot.

I dramatically reduced the amount of hangs by disabling 'Spherical Harmonic Lighting' in the ME3 config tool.
Yep that really does seems to help alot, but sadly doesnt remove the freezing problem completly, but a little help is better then no help, so thanks

I hade same problem with BF3, the only game that make me crash the Pc, after many test, i realized that the problem was the ram. And in that situation only BF3 was making me crash the pc
So just give it a try :/
If the ram was the problem, other more intensive games would also be hard locking / freezing, but it does not ergo it is not hardware related, it's driver/bad coding/win 64 or Quad Core related, that's the only things we have in common everyone who reports the freezing.

I updated to the latest nvidia drivers today. Previously when it crashed the picture would stay on screen but with the latest crash the screen went a kind of purple colour.
This is the only game I'm having problems with.
Edit: Also, I had no technical issues at all with the demo.

QUESTION TO BIOWARE: Will a system log report help you? I've used everest ultimate for this, have a html log from a clean reboot, only catalyst center, origin and ME3 launched (and of course crashed after 10 min)

However It is much much worse in multiplayer, I havent had a single hard-freeze in single player to where I had to hit the reset button.
Sometimes I can go all night in multiplayer, sometimes i cant play for 10 seconds without it freezing my entire system.
In single player I occasionally have "blips" where it freezes for a split second and I hear the sound loop as you would with the other freezes, but then recovers and continues to play.
Things I've tried:
Old drivers, current drivers, beta drivers (there are new beta drivers for nvidia if anyone wants to try them)
disabled origin in-game
disabled harmonic lighting
Full system reformat, ME3 is the only thing installed atm
updated my BIOS, and all system drivers available
Kind of funny the Demo multiplayer worked 100% fine.
No errors in the event logs that would give any insight either.

I think it is still hardware related, only multiplayer don't stress that particular resource that hard.
ME3 does not stress your system at all multiplayer or singleplayer, i can run Crysis 2 on EXTREME SETTINGS without my system crashing even once, and crysis 2 run on extreme settings taxes hardware TWICE as hard as ME3 ever will, same deal with BF3 i can run that game on ULTRA without fail, so no it's not hardware related at least not on my end.

But at the times of the crashes nothing is loged to any of the loges.

It is not exactly same, as for must of us the freezes are totally random.

I highly doubt it is the hardware, as my PC is less the 3 months old, and its hardware pretty damn good.

Well, I think I may be in a similar boat as everyone here at least. I just tried one of my saves, I rolled back my driver to 285.62 and did an origin repair. Game worked for 2 minutes when I got to the Hammer objectives it started doing the freeze. I ctrl + alt + del out of it.
Im running 64bit windows 7 with a quad core AMD processor. So Im close to the same specs as everyone here.
According to my save file, I have 13 hours and 55 min of gameplay in before it started to do the feeze/crashes.

Yeah now does sounds abit more like our type of problem with one different, you are atleast able to ctrl alt delete your way out

True, sometimes I am able to ctrl alt del out and sometimes Im not. That part is random.
However, now I had the same BSOD crash with nvlddmkm.sys message when I was playing SWtoR for 5 minutes. I hope its not my GPU, this thing is only a year old...
Cant test it now, off to work. Hopefully theres a solution incoming.
