Fallout 3 had a sucky ending, I did not ask for broken steel NOR I bought it. Mass Effect is the exception not the rule

Unless BioWare wants the Mass Effect franchise to die with this game, then they better release a "good" ending(s) DLC.

And really, I don't think that's too far from the truth. I've watched great games be returned because of the ending, and Mass Effect 3 really doesn't deserve to be in the line for that chopping block. Story wise, I'd put the Saga of Shepard right alongside Star Wars. However, imo, if Episode VI ended in a similar fashion to ME3, I don't think the series would have been as formiddable and long lasting. I think know the Mass Effect series has that kind of potential, even at its closing. To give it such a noire ending at the end of Shepard's Saga...

:pinched:

No, Star Wars would not be the cultural phenomenon it is today if Luke had to die before Darth Vader snapped and killed the Emperor.

As for the initial question, I'd accept a Better Ending DLC because I don't think it's possible to get a refund on BW points ... my assumption that BW tells stories that I think are worth hearing made me buy way too many in advance.  The last time I replayed ME1, I still got a thrill when the 5th Fleet and Hackett show up at the end - it's an uplifting and triumphant moment.  There is nothing uplifting or triumphant about the ME3 endings we have, and I will happily and gratefully redeem the BW points I already bought to change that ... what else am I going to spend those points on?  Weapon and armor packs?  Missions that drag me back to a game I'm no longer interested in playing?

No thanks.

I am not begging to pay for ANYTHING. I expect it to be free if Bioware wants another dime from me again.

Hell yeah I'm begging to pay for a solid conclusion to "my life". Seeing as though I've invested more effort into the ME games than I have into my actual life to just have it end in such a pointless way, I'd be willing to pay. Of course we should have gotten it in the first place, but there's nothing we can do about it now. It's either pay or quit forever.

Ditto that.

I think about it this way. If Bioware makes good endings, I'm essentially paying for replay value -- yes, replay value is something I should expect on release, but here's the thing: I'm trapped. I can't let go of this game at the same time I can't stand how it ends.

I love this series. I truly do. It's one of the few video games that I actually think about fondly. I want to be able to play this game again and feel happy each time I reach the end of my 60+ hours playing through the series. As it stands, I'm not even sure I want to finish a single playthrough -- I'll probably quit just before the final mission and leave it there, unresolved, because resolving in the ways I currently can would ruin it for me.

Yes, have to agree with most senitments - maybe the so called secret ending gives us some joy because these endings did not - geez how much time have we all invested in the series - a total let down ending - talk about leaving you feeling BAD! Bioware you really misjudged this one - the controversy is not good - doubt I have the heart to play anymore of this one - ME1 and 2 I played mahy times over - this one - only once...

Except that there is no "should" in this. It would be good if Bioware responds, but they told their story, and I wouldn't ask anymore.

At least halo 3 had a sort of epilogue, and hell, the secret 'legendary' ending wasn't as bad as ME3's secret ending.
