There seems to be a lot of negativity floating around here so I just wanted to chime in with some positive zen. I'm only about 3 hours in right now, and only getting to play in snippets (father of a 3 year old) but I just gotta say, thanks BioWare....it feels good to be back. Being a big fan of the previous two installments I was very excited to get back to Mass Effect.

So far the story is gripping (jumped right to it!) and I'm already feeling attached to the characters. There's a lot of emotion wrapped up in just the opening few hours for me. I absolutely can't wait to see where this goes!

Agreed 100%

That's been my stance, everything so far amazing w/ reserving judgement on endings.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand people are pretty ticked off about some of this stuff, and rightfully so maybe. Shame on you BW for botching the facial imports! But this is small potato stuff to me when considering what sits in my xbox tray right now.

Maybe its because I cut my teeth on trying to time moonphases properly so I could make it in and defeat Minax, but I'm seriously just blown away by what BioWare offers these days. The mere fact that decsions I made two games ago have some impact on the game I'm playing now, no matter how minor, is just amazing. Every time I run into a character that I have history with, and know that my buddy won't even be seeing this character in his play through!?!? Even just getting updates from small decisions in the past, a passing comment here or there, I just get a little bit giddy.

BioWare is still where its at for me!

Needed to pop on to ask a question but figured I'd update this post since I'm now 35 hours in. And I've still gotta say it....wow. This installment of ME continues to keep me awestruck on so many levels. For my personal tastes, this series has become the pinnacle of gaming. With all the history and decisions that we're carrying forward over the three games, there's just an enormous amount of emotional and dramatic weight here in the final title. Such a wonderful experience, can't wait to see how it all comes to a close!

Knowing where you are heading in the end, that has got to be the saddest thing I have read here in quite some time.

Well, I'm very allergic to spoilers so please don't put them here and thank you for being considerate about that so far. Although, I admit that I've seen a lot of chatter about disappointment in the endings. I wish I'd seen nothing about that because that's almost a spoiler in and of itself. But its made me consider what would be a very disappointing ending and I can't come up with anything. I'm open to anything, dramatically speaking. The only thing that would be disappointing is if its a non-ending. No conclusion or narrative wrapup. That would suck, but I can't see them leaving the ending of such an epic story unfinished.

I'll definitely check back in after its over. Here's hoping I'm in the 2% you mentioned above!

As a note, I also won't be looking at this thread any more until its over. Just in case someone is tempted to venture out of the realm of vague comments and into ambiguous but spoilery comments. Seriously, I'm very allergic to spoilers! Haha!

Enjoy it while it lasts you guys.  Deception is a cold mistress.  When she rears her head, you will understand.

This game was insanely enjoyable. There were so many moments along the way that were amazingly well done. I have never felt more connected to characters from any form of entertainment as I have become with the Mass Effect games. I am eager to see what the plans for the upcoming DLC entries will be, and I'll see everyone on the Multiplayer section every once in a while. Enjoy the game for the emotional roller coaster that it is

This line literally made me so sad. I feel for you. Guess I'll see you in the Spoiler section with the rest of us once you beat it.

Well, I was in the OP's shoes too, I thought that this was one of the best games of all time...

I read all the negative feedback about the endings, but I shrugged it off...

...then I played some more...

...and reached the ending...

...and... ARE YOU FRIGGIN' KIDDING ME???

... I stood in front of my screen in stunned silence ...

... I mean, how can I describe what I felt?

... That ending was... AMAZING! I bloody LOVED IT!!!. Yeah, the cinematic execution of it is average at best, but the SCOPE of what can happen. In a game about choices Bioware gave me the ULTIMATE choice to make before the trilogy ended... Thank you writers for sticking to your guns and giving me an ending that was more majestic in it's repercussions than what I'd hoped...

Is it wrong of me to find amusement with those who are still only a few hours into the game and have yet to be deflowered?

Part of me wants to bookmark this post so you can read it a week or two from now, OP.

The game is excellent, can't top Mass Effect 1, but then again nothing can. Endings really take it down a notch, but that condemns the plot of the series, not Mass Effect 3 as a standalone experience.
