Origin hanging, taking down ME3 with it

At least three times now, going into the Origin overlay has frozen both the overlay and the game. Can't close the overlay with either SHIFT+F1 or clicking the X button, and Windows regards ME3 as non-responsive and I have to kill it. Following this, this bug is guaranteed to recur unless I completly close and then restart Origin. In order to do this, I have to kill the Origin.exe process before running Origin again, because when this has happened, exiting Origin will not actually end the process - it'll still be hanging out in Process-land, taking up somewhere from 100 to 150 MB of RAM (though no visible amount of CPU cycles).

The most recent time, this happened in record time, 20 seconds after running the game, when I opened the overlay in the main menu as soon as the EA server log-in and DLC check finished. I'd note that I had Origin running in the background for some hours before that, whereas usually I start it up just before running ME3, so I'm guessing this is something that may take a while to manifest.

My specs:

Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i5 2500
8 GB RAM
Radeon 6950, Catalyst 12.1 drivers

One thing that just occurred to me thinking about what might be fairly unique to me is that I'm forcing AA in Catalyst Center (in addition to ME3's post-process). I'm doubtful that's the issue, but I'm going to try turning that off and seeing if this stops happening.

My reccomendation would be to go into origin settings there is an option to disable the origin in-game. helped smooth out some of my ridiculous game-play issues.

Update: I ran into this bug again playing without forced AA. Looks like that's probably not the issue.

Trouble is, I'm playing MP and would like to keep sending and receiving invites enabled.
