I'm about 11 hours in, (it's been great so far) but now after waking up to play again, I've found that the game freezes up once in the loading screen. By 'freeze', I mean that the screen will still give off the appearance of loading, (wheel revolving, coffee still steaming) but it never does. I had given it the benefit of doubt for at least 5 minutes, but then it dragged on to 10. This problem has occured with all saves I've tried to return to. (restart-mission, autosaves, etc.) To top it all off, the game disc will not even install. It will always stop at 42% at which point a screen will pop up saying the disc is unreadable.
Anyone else having similar problems? (or a SOLUTION for that matter?)

I am having the same problem. I played the game for 5 hours took a break when I went back to load my save game the game frozed on the loading screen with the music stopping after 2 minutes. Tried to start a new game by importing my mass effect 2 chracter but it stops at the normandy loading screen and the music stops after 2 minutes; left both screens running for 20 minutes till I gave up.
