I was ready to hate Vega but I love him...he was one of the bright spots in the game.

So far Vega is a big nothing as best I can tell - not that far in mind- but so far it is like he's got no use other than a few Spanish words to define his "character". I hope there's more to him.

Overall I think this set of squaddies is easily the worst of the 3 series.

I think Vega is ok. He's not great, he's not bad, he's just ok. I think it would have been cooler if they had tailored it to give you your two squadmates from previous games based on your relationships with them. Like, say if you were really close with Miranda then you get her. If you always told her to STFU then you don't. If you constantly were being rude to Tali, then she won't return to your squad, instead you get say Jack who very much respects you. Things like that, basically. Course, I guess that would have required a friendship thing like the Dragon Age games had in order to know those types of things.

As for the two that return to the squad, I am happy to see Garrus and Tali on my team again, just would have preferred to see Legion make a full return. Huge ass sniper rifle + AI Hacking? I hated how late in the game you got Legion in Mass Effect 2 because once I got him, he never left my party.
